Final week of summer break, people! And wouldn’t you know it, I never did get around to organizing any camping trips. We’ll still go spend a weekend or two at the campground we inherited from my parents in Eastern Washington before the hubby’s summer break is done (that way we can head out after the kids are off school on a Friday and come home on Sunday so they’ll be back to class on Monday).
That’s the benefit of owning a campsite that already has a fifth-wheel and additional trailer on it – none of the hours of set-up like usual when we are tent camping in an empty site, which makes for a nice ‘quick and easy’ getaway for a weekend. Next summer we’ll spend some extra time there (and go back to our favorite campgrounds in the mountains and at the ocean). It just wasn’t in the cards this year.
Kids go back to school next week! Little Dude starts middle school (gasp!) on Tuesday, Princess Nagger’s online school doesn’t start until Wednesday. One is thrilled, the other not so much. Bet you can guess which is which! Hard to believe that Princess Nagger only has 2 years of high school left! She’s still leaning towards being a Paleontologist, although with her mad drawing skills, she’s thinking something by way of the artistic side of a career.
We’ll see – at least she’s still interested in furthering her education, in spite of the anti-school attitude she’s been sporting the last couple of years.
When she does decide what and where, this will be me:
This is kinda freaky cool:
I never even thought about an owl’s legs – nor realized how long they actually are!
And check out these cool photos of a hummingbird – one word, amazing:
This is funny:
As is this:
This is punny:
This is clever:
This is funny in a groan-worthy kind of way:
