Another Tuesday has arrived at the speed of light – and I’m still behind the eight ball. But I’ll get out from behind it, mark my words. Little Dude had a visit with a new psychologist last week – I really like the dude, and I think it’s going to help traverse this mega rocky path we’re currently on. More about that later.

I don’t know if any of you watch American Idol – I’ve watched it since its inception, and have been so very happy the people I voted for won. This year was no exception – I especially love the fact that the winner had no intention of auditioning this year after he made it through Hollywood week last year, but didn’t make the top 20.

But he took all the advice from the judges to heart, and the year in between he worked on what they told him he needed to work on. But he still didn’t feel ‘ready’ to audition this year, so he simply showed up to be supportive and play guitar for one of his friends from his hometown when she auditioned. Of course the judges remembered him, and talked him into doing an impromptu audition. And of course they were blown away, and had to talk him into taking the golden ticket to Hollywood.

And wouldn’t you know it? He won!

I was so happy to see Laine Hardy from Louisiana not only have strong performances from week to week, but he totally had my votes!

My runner up preference was Wade Cota – I sure hope someone signs that boy to a deal, too, because he’s phenomenal as well. Third place (in my head) was a toss up between Madison Vandenburg and Alejandro Aranda – I love them both, so I hope they end up having fabulous careers as well.

Since I’m once again so far behind I’m swimming upstream, let’s dive right into the funnies, m’kay? Oh, but first – did you see the image of the bike washer yet? Here:

Wash your dirty laundry while simultaneously exercising! Sometimes is hard to find time to exercise because of housework, but this piece of gym equipment gives you the opportunity to do two things at once: wash your laundry and get fit.

This bike was developed by Chinese designers and it incorporates a washing machine within its front wheel, thus also saving space. When you start pedaling, it makes the drum rotate, just like a conventional washing machine. However, the designers failed to mention if the bike will automatically fill and drain with water.

If this device didn’t convince you, maybe one that combines a treadmill with a washing machine will do that. Jog and wash at the same time!

This hamster wheel looking machine features a series of wash tubs enclosed within a large rotating wheel, which also generates electricity. A South Korean designer, named Si Hyeong Ryu, proposed this concept for the 2014 Electrolux Design Lab competition.

Pretty crazy, no? I’d never be able to get the hamster wheel one in my house (plus I’m not a jogger, so it’d be a hard “No” from me). The bike one, while a cool concept, also wouldn’t be conducive to the way the house is set up, because depending on how it fills and drains, it’d have to be close to a water source (and drain), so placement would be limited. I’d never be able to feng shui my house if I ever wanted to…heh!

Oh, oh oh! You have to see this! Need proof that you can’t take your eyes off your kids for even a second? This video of a mom returning home from a walk with her two kids and dog — taken from an outdoor security camera — confirms that it’s wise for parents to never, ever let their guard down.

As the mom helps her daughter punch in the garage door security code, her other child is seen getting restless in a stroller next to the family pet, whose leash is lying on the ground.

What makes this security cam footage all the more hilarious is that, even if you watch it fully aware that something ridiculous is about to happen, we guarantee you won’t see the surprising twist coming.

Bet you didn’t see that coming, did you?

This one I did see coming:

This cracked me up, especially because some days this is totally me:

  1. This whole state was cheering Mr. Hardy on, that is certain.

You certainly cannot take your eyes off of kids for a second. Our back fence neighbor left the kids outdoors once just for a moment, and the little boy tried to climb the fence, getting his shirt caught so he was stuck at the top. It’s a good thing i was hanging laundry at the time and heard this tiny voice saying, “Help, please!”

Human powered washers, i wonder what they will think of next.

In my own town, i can figure out north from south as long as i remember which direction the river is, but if i were in another city, forget it.

How did they know about my eating habits?

Thanks for the laughs, and i hope the new psychologist can help your Little Dude weather the rough patch.

  2. LOL I am losing it over the one about people arguing. That totally sounds like something I would have done back in the day. I love to mess with people!

  3. You’re right. I wasn’t expecting that to happen with the little girl and garage! I saw that scarecrow cartoon this week on FB and saved it. Funny! My favorite was the soap opera!

  4. I loved the cartoon with the direction-challenged driver. What I loved most about it was the facial features of the girls, especially their eyes. So expressive. Illustrator did a good job of expressing their feelings through the way he or she drew the eyes.
I remember when I was clueless about NSWE directions but I had a good friend who I used to hang with in college and she was always saying “turn West on …”, “just head north…” and I was always so impressed and expressed that and she proceeded to show me how she so easily knew which direction we were headed in by using her finger to write on the steamed up windshield window. We were headed to a bar in Buffalo on a cold winter night, hence the window-turned-chalkboard. I’ve been perfect on directions every since that night.

That was a great video of the little girl taking a ride on the garage door. haha

    Have a great weekend,

  5. “When you have no sense of direction” was me exactly. When I lived in Kansas it drove me crazy that you would, for example, ask a salesperson in a store where something was and they would say “3 aisles north”. I didn’t know where north was when I was outside, never mind inside. And that garage door video – oh my. Yes, you can’t take your eyes off of youngsters for a second!
