Daylight Saving Time leads to Random Funnies: Random Tuesday Thoughts

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – I’m so not a fan of this time of year, when those that are they have taken away an hour from us. I actually like my friend Cathy‘s idea, though – she and her hubby turn their clocks the day before, so it doesn’t seem to affect them as much. And I absolutely agree that it’s a mindset – I had to chastise myself (in my head) when I kept thinking “Ugh, when the alarm goes off at 4:15am tomorrow, my internal clock will know that it’s only 3:15am!) I’ll do better next year. Maybe. Heh!

We’ve had a few beautiful sunny days – the rain is back enforce today, but the long-term forecast actually shows that we’ll be hitting just under 70-degrees by this time next week! Unusual winter with snow (unusual for our neck of the woods), and unusual for such a quick warm-up, but I’ll take it – especially since the nighttime hours will be what’s considered ‘good sleeping weather’. I’m absolutely ready for spring!

I was able to catch yesterday’s sunrise:

I love our view and getting to catch the sunrise in the mornings.

Speaking of alarms in the morning… Mary Smith was a Knocker-up who earned sixpence a week shooting dried peas at sleeping workers windows:

A Knocker-up’s job was to rouse sleeping people so they could get to work on time, a profession that started in England and Ireland during the Industrial Revolution, before alarm clocks were affordable or reliable. Pretty wild, no?

Speaking of getting up early… This totally applies on those early morning days (especially for my hubby – don’t talk to him before he’s had his first cup of coffee):

Speaking of the time change… these were funny:

You have got to check this out – it’s pretty wild:

This is a real census entry – it’s hilarious:

My friend Julie (I miss her blogging!) posted this text exchange between her and her son – it’s hilarious (and I’m totally going to steal this joke):

This is one of the funniest photobombs I’ve ever seen:

This next one is so true for my hubby – anyone else?

And I’m just going to leave this right here for you:

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the , everyone is welcome.

About StacyUncorked

After 20+ years in the Corporate World and years of infertility, Stacy was surprised when Princess Nagger made her miraculous appearance - deciding to forgo the career and stay home was a no-brainer. As if her hands weren't full enough, 8 years later she and her husband added Little Dude through adoption, adding a whole new dimension (of crazy) to their family and even more sleepless nights. When she’s not refereeing kids, dogs and cats, she loves to write, hence the reason she decided to start her little blog, and because she never got a baby book to mark milestones, this was the next best thing. She also enjoys doing reviews and giveaways for products she or her family would willingly use and can stand behind. She loves to cook and try new techniques to turn ordinary into extraordinary. Crafty by nature, she takes on a lot of unique projects and enjoy seeing the end result. Her favorite, of course, is making her award winning wine out of fruits and grapes. Experiments with water currently underway.

  1. The time has come for a time change rebellion. Most people want the most daylight in the evening, so let’s just make Daylight time the new Standard time and leave everything alone. Maybe we need to start protesting on the state level, get so many states to opt out as Arizona and Hawaii do that it becomes not worth it.

Thanks for the funnies, and if you want, you are welcome to play along with Sandee’s Happy Tuesday, too.
