So, how’s 2019 treating you so far? I was just thinking the other day it’ll be fun next year when we’re talking about 2020. Then I was thinking 2019 sounds kinda ‘futuristic’, and out of curiosity, I went and looked up movies that were set in 2019… Here’s the list:

Name of Movie Release Date Setting
2019, After the Fall of New York 1983 2019
Akira 1988 2019
Blade Runner 1982 2019
Daybreakers 2010 2019
Geostorm 2017 2019-2023
The Island 2005 2019
The New Barbarians 1982 2019
The Road 2009 2019
The Running Man 1987 2017–2019
Steel Frontier 1995 2019
Test Tube Teens From the Year 2000 (Virgin Hunters) 1994 2019 (Despite the film’s title, it is actually set in 2019, when multinational corporations have banned any sort of sexual activity. The protagonists try to find a method of travelling back in time to prevent this law from being passed.)

Some of these I’ve never hear of or don’t remember them – might be interesting to watch some of them to see how 2019 is depicted, no?

Yesterday was the first day since before Christmas that everyone is back to a ‘regular’ schedule. Boy, was it tough going back to a 4:15 am alarm after getting to ‘sleep in’ until 6 am for the last 3 weeks! It probably would have been easier to deal with the alarm if I wasn’t still stuck in the ‘going to bed later since I can get up later’ mode…heh! So bear with me and my foggy brain while I become acclimated to less sleep!

Let’s give my foggy brain a break and head right to the funnies, shall we? This airport terminal snapshot was taken by someone who was flying on Christmas Eve – I thought it was pretty cool what they did:

Anyone still have their tree up? I’d planned on taking ours down on Sunday, Epiphany, but it’s still standing… ahem! This week for sure! I’m going to try not to let it drag out too long – while I love the festive look, I do look forward to having my house back to ‘normal’.

This cracked me up when the debate raged on about when to take the tree down (lots of people take theirs down the day after Christmas, others wait until New Year, and the rest of us wait until after Epiphany):

Someone actually lives in an area where they were able to snap this picture:

What I wouldn’t give to live in an area where reindeer happens to be a ‘normal’ sight! I know, a girl can dream, right?

Speaking of reindeer, this is funny:

Have you all seen the movie Bird Box yet? I wanted the hubby to watch it with me on New Year’s Day, but we never got around to it. Soon, hopefully! These memes cracked me up, though, because they’re so true!

This cracked me up, because it’s also true (well, except that I was binge watching the Hallmark Channel…heh!):

This also cracked me up:

As did this (Truth!):

This is seriously funny:

I absolutely love this – this is definitely one of those pictures that’s worth a thousand words:

This is hilarious:

And this is punny:

And I’m just going to leave this right here for you:

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the , everyone is welcome.

My friend MessyMimi participates in Happy Tuesday each week, so I thought I’d join in the fun, too! Well, OK, maybe I’ll finally remember to join in – if you don’t see me over there, send me a message and nag me a reminder, OK?

  1. Having to go back to getting up early is always a difficult, and it’s made worse by the fact that there’s always more to do at night that will keep you up later if you let it.

It’s 2019, as i have said every year since 2000, why don’t we have moon colonies and why haven’t we solved all of earth’s problems yet?

The moms who win are those who had to haul water from the well and do laundry in a tub with a wash board, if you know what i mean.

Thanks for the funnies, and if you get the tree down before Twentieth Day (in Norway, that’s the final day of Yuletide), i’d say you’re good.

  2. As usual, you always find some great memes! I haven’t watched Bird Box yet. Not sure if I”m going to or not. We took down our tree a couple days after Christmas.

  3. That is so cool, that all those movies were set in 2019. Nice. Blade Runner is one of my favs. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.

  4. Stacy,

DH was off last month for several days which was very nice. Sleeping in late those days was very much needed especially with all the added stress on our plates with the new car purchase, old car repair, hurting my leg, … Life is sorta settling down some but I’m afraid to relax. I’m sure things will fall apart at any given moment because of Murphy’s Law. 🙂 I loved the funnies and please let me know what you think of the movie, Bird Box. It’s not really begging me to watch it but I do like Sandra Bullock. Happy random Tuesday, my friend! 😉

  5. I broke down and watched Bird Box. Meh. Kinda scary in parts. Kinda strange. Not a role I would have pictured for Sandra Bullock. But I watched it! Definitely not kid-friendly. Most all I did over the break was watch TV and movies and craft. I could have organized, cleaned, but who wants to do that? Loved your funnies!
