Tuesday has arrived! Can you believe we’re already halfway through May? I know, I know – I really do need to learn the art of not blinking. Hot weather has arrived here in the Pacific Northwest, but luckily it only lasts a few days at a time (well, until we reach the throes of summer) to more reasonable temperatures – but still nice and sunny.

And no, it honestly does not rain all the time here like people think. While we do certainly have our fair share of rain, at least when we do have sunshine and heat, we don’t have to factor humidity into the mix. I’m fine with heat, it’s the humidity I wasn’t a fan of when we lived in Pennsylvania – constant days of ‘bad hair days’ for sure!

Hope all you mothers had a nice Mother’s Day! It’s back to the training mode with the hubby again – no card, no gift, just another regular day on the calendar. Even Princess Nagger sequestered herself in her room most of the day with a major teenitude going on.

Luckily Little Dude saved the day – he made me a cute butterfly hanging decoration in school, and was super excited to have me open his gift – I love it! I’ll have to take pictures of it to show you next week, because he’s very proud of his accomplishment (as he should be).

Don’t get me wrong – at least we did go out to dinner on Friday night in honor of Mother’s Day, so we could avoid the typical crowds, and the hubby did run to the local IGA for fried chicken for lunch on Sunday so I wouldn’t have to fix lunch for the minions and him, so he gets props for that. Next year I guess I’ll just have to take the lead and give the hubby ideas on how to celebrate me on Mother’s Day…heh.

We did have a chance to visit my brother and his wife on Saturday, and my brother is a grilling king with his knack for making the best food on his grill – his chicken was to die for. We got to celebrate my mom then, too – it’s always nice to spend time with family:

That’s my brother on the left, my hubby in the tie-die shirt, me, my mom, and my sister-in-law. Good food, good wine, and great company!

Now on to some funnies! Speaking of Mother’s Day…

This happens to me every time:

This totally cracked me up:

You gotta love how this picture made it in the newspaper:

Have you heard that schools aren’t teaching kids how to tell time – at least not by the ‘old-fashioned’ clocks?

I guess it makes technological sense, considering you don’t actually have to know how to read from a clock with hands, since everything is digital – or you know, Siri or Alexa can just tell you what time it is.

I thought this was pretty funny:

This shirt cracked me up:

And finally, I’m going to leave this right here for you:

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.

  1. That’s a good family picture!
My two sons, ages 19 and 18, cannot read time on a clock. I was in shock when I first found out about this. They were never taught in school and always rely on digital means. Um, ok, I guess.
I need to quit blinking too….this year has flown by.

  2. Stacy,

Teenagers, you can’t live with them and you can’t murder them, so what do you do? lol I remember when parents complained about the ‘terrible twos’. Teenagers are worse than toddlers. Having two daughters close in age meant our house was on high alert with ranging emotions. You’d swear they were schizo with their mood swings; one minute all lovey and the next you find your head on a chopping block. Go figure, right? At least the hubs treated you to an early dinner and even got you lunch on Sunday. He gets kudo points! And, little dude…well, that’s just sweet. I miss those days very much. Hold on to them, my friend! Thanks for hosting the random fun!

  3. It sounds like you had a great time on Friday and Saturday, and i hope the Sunday turns out to be just as special as the days leading up next year. There’s plenty of time to plan.

Yes, there is waaaayyyyy too much to do on the day after a day off, which is why i try to never really take a day off. Any time i leave for a few days, i come home to an explosion, i’ve just learned to expect it and deal.

    Gotta get that t-shirt!

  4. Great family photo and you have to remember that teens become aliens until they are about 20. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.

  5. I wanted to avoid crowds on Mother’s Day, too! The place I wanted to go to would’ve been too crowded and I hate to wait for my food. Hahaha! Instead, we went to The Old Spaghetti Factory. It used to be an old school house and is said to be haunted. I like it for the gluten-free pasta I can eat there with delicious Mizithra cheese that I don’t find anywhere else. My husband doesn’t like pasta, so I only get to go there on Mother’s Day or my birthday.

Sounds like you had some great fried chicken over the weekend. I miss fried chicken. The gluten free kind doesn’t taste the same. Gluten makes me really sick now, so no more fried chicken for me.

Your meme made me laugh because I can relate! I didn’t do laundry over the weekend because it was Mother’s Day so I ended up doing a quick load on Monday morning so my son could have pants to wear to school. lol

  6. Mother’s Day – the day after – so true! I saw that article about clocks. Crazy, huh? Mine had to learn to tell time on a regular clock in second grade, I think. Looks like you’ve been having fun. And if you’d like some humidity up there in the Pacific Northwest, I’ll send some your way courtesy of the Gulf Coast of Texas! LOL

  7. Oh totally agree with you that catching up with family is always the best! Totally loving your collection of funnies today – my favourite one is the one on a Mother’s Day Hangover!! Totally agree! I decided not to do the washing, even though I normally do the school washing on Sundays ….. so, the next day I had to deal with the kids telling me that they don’t have clean school clothes, oops!!!! Threw out my routine for the whole entire week haha!
