Hello Monday! Today things get back to relatively normal – kids are done with their spring break, the hubby is back to work after being home most of last week with the plague (and here’s hoping I don’t end up with it – me and Little Dude were plague free while the hubs and Princess Nagger were down and out for the count last week).

Since it is Monday, you know that Monday means music! This week our theme is “any songs about Easter” – since Easter technically happened early this year (as in last week), I’ll do a couple songs for Easter, and a couple brand new tunes that will tickle your earbuds. Grab your favorite tune(s) and dance along, won’t you?

Let’s start off with a Northern Irish Christian folk rock and worship band with a single they released on August 25, 2017. It is a reminder in these troubled times that the gospel message is one of good news. One of the band members was quoted as saying:

“There’s a lot of bad news out there, but no matter what, we have good news and that good news has a name: Jesus Christ. Today there is nothing more powerful we can do in the darkness, in the bleakness, than proclaim the good news, than proclaim the Gospel and that’s why we wrote the song ‘Rescuer’. The good Lord came to seek and save and maybe that’s a message you need to hear today. Maybe you need to know that you can be rescued. Maybe you just need to celebrate the fact that you have been rescued. Jesus is our rescuer and there is good news in him.”

Next up on the Easter mode is a high energy song of praise and celebration.

Next up is a great collaboration by a couple of groups that announced they’re doing a summer tour together. When they uploaded this song to YouTube, they said:

“We wanted to do something special before our summer tour with Daryl Hall & John Oates kicks off, so we hopped in the studio to record “Philly Forget Me Not” together! Can’t wait to play this one for you all summer (and better hear you singing along!)”

For your listening pleasure, here’s Train, Daryl Hall & John Oates with “Philly Forget Me Not”:

And finally, this brand new song that was just released this past Friday is a mid-tempo tune urging listeners to find a way to live peacefully and in harmony with others. The artist was quoted as saying:

“Some days, it’s like the world is just angry, screaming people. All harping on what’s wrong, how other people are awful. The more I move around, talking to people, though, the more I know people are seeking the same things, working hard to get by and hoping for the best for their family and friends. It’s simple, but we keep getting driven apart – and made unhappy.”

Here’s the talented Kenny Chesney with “Get Along”:

That’s a wrap for this week, have a great Monday – see you on the dance floor!

Now on to the particulars of Monday’s Music Move’s Me:   PhotobucketI have the supreme honor and privilege of being a co-host with the inimitable Xmas Dolly and our musical cohort, the awesome Cathy from Curious as a CAThy, and while our beloved Callie of JAmerican Spice is taking a break, our friend Michelle from Michelle’s Musings and Merriment is helping out with hostess duties!

Want to join in the fun? It’s easy – just find a tune that rocks your boat, post it and link up – don’t forget to grab Xmas Dolly…er, um, I mean her button…over at her place here. Check out Xmas Dolly’s sidebar for the random themes we sport each week – and you can always ask for a specific theme of music you like, too. Check out the other music lovahs and let’s jam!

  1. Stacy,

I hope you don’t catch what the hubs and PN had last week. It’s a good time to catch something with the weather wacky. I’m jamming to your Christian rock of praise for the Lord, both bands are introductions and totally pawsome mewsic! Thanks for boogieing with me. I hope you have a tunetastic week.

    1. So far so good, Cathy – knock on wood! 🙂 The weather sure has been wacky! Sunny and 64 today, but ‘trending cooler’ and stormy with lots of rain the rest of the week. Of course I have my semi-monthly grocery shopping tomorrow, so I’m gonna be looking like a drowned rat when I’m done! 🙂 Aren’t those groups great? I just discovered them when looking for some good Easter songs. 🙂 Thanks for boogieing with me – you have a tunetastic week, too! 😉

    1. Thank you, Patrick! And no worries – I think because Easter ended up being ‘early’ this year, there was some confusion – loved your Easter songs on Easter week! 😉

  2. So nice to come along once again and hear your great choices for the week. Have a wonderful week.

  3. Better late than never! Been having a rough time of it the last few days! Hubby is out of work again, and on top of it all he gets a ticket on Easter Sunday! Phooey!!! I give up! Anyway, music calms the savage beast as they say and you certainly have it here. Thanks for sharing girlfriend. I’ll talk to you soon. Hope all is well with you and family…. HUGS
