Hello Monday! I’m still trying to learn the art of ‘not blinking’ so time doesn’t fly by so fast, but alas and alack, it’s not working for me. But hey! This is Valentine’s week! Anyone else out there a hopeless romantic like I am? Too bad the hubby doesn’t have a romantic bone in his body – but that’s OK, I’ll just make this week special for myself…heh!

It’s Monday -and of course Monday means music! This week’s theme is of course “Love Songs for Valentine’s Day” – feel free to take a break from whatever you’re doing, grab your favorite tune and partner, and dance along with us, won’t you?

Let’s start off with a song I shared last month from a breakout British singer-songwriter who released a new single, an emotionally resonant piano ballad. Now, the singer has enlisted British powerhouse Leona Lewis for a duet version of the track. Definitely perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Get ready for some goosebumps, here’s Calum Scott and Leona Lewis with “You Are The Reason (Duet Version)”:

Next up is a song that is reminiscent of a Nineties slow jam, yet couched in contemporary Ed Sheeran-style intimacy, the tune spotlights this artist singing the verses in a higher register and giving the pleading lyrics a keener sense of urgency.

Take a little bit of my heart tonight / no I literally don’t mind / just please don’t misplace it

Give a listen to the delicious Keith Urban with “Parallel Line”:

Next up is a song I also shared recently, but this waltz-time love song this artist wrote for his girlfriend is definitely the perfect Valentine’s song for sure. Besides, I’ve had it on replay multiple times since I’ve shared it, so you might as well enjoy it again, too.

Get ready to do some dancing to Ed Sheeran with “Perfect”:

Last, but definitely not least, is a song I could find absolutely no information on, other than it was part of an album that was released by this group January 2017 – so it’s been out a year. And I did find a live performance of it on the Today Show from December 2016, but like the sound from the album version better, which is what I’m sharing today.

Perfect Valentine song – here’s Train with “Valentine”:

That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday – see you on the dance floor! Happy Valentine’s Day!

  2. Stacy,

You brought all new-to-me tunes my way, except for Ed Sheeran “Perfect”. I enjoyed your first selection, “You Are the Reason” . It’s beautiful. Keith Urban is a talented artist. Train’s retro flavor tune, “Valentine” was a fun song, almost transporting me back to the 50s with that doo-whop feel. Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me and for sending the linky code to me. Have a good week, my friend.

  3. Mostly new tunes for me this week. Did you know Ed Sheeran just got engaged? All of those poor girls who were hoping. Anyway, Keith Urban…those sexy eyes…whew!

Love the dance this week my friend.
