Holiday Wine Pairings because it’s the Season Of Love Up On The Housetop At Christmas – Born On Christmas Day

Wow. That happened fast. It’s Christmas!! And I’m much later than ‘normal’ putting this post together what with all the craziness and chaos leading up to the awesomeness of today, and of what’s to come tomorrow. First and foremost, Merry Christmas my friends! 

As is our tradition, we spent the better part of this evening opening our family gifts – tomorrow morning will be round 2 with Santa Gifts. And yes, the hubby and I will get to enjoy opening Santa gifts, too. Of course I know what Santa got me, since I’m the one that does all the gift purchases (except the ones the hubby buys for me for Christmas Eve) but ever since I simply forgot one year to get the hubby and I Santa gifts, Princess Nagger was aghast that we must have been ‘naughty’ that year (and never let us forget that ‘naughty year’), I haven’t forgotten since.

I know, it’s a big job, but someone has to do it, no?

Meanwhile, it’s (almost) Monday, and Christmas Day!! So to wrap up our month-long Christmas theme, we’re enjoying one last day of fun, funny, and beautiful Christmas tunes. Feel free to grab your favorite, and come dance with us, won’t you? Favorite tune, you sillies! What did you think I meant?

Let’s start with the fun (and funny) family who ask the question:

Whether you’re dealing with gifting, Christmas cards, elf fits and more, the holidays always seem to be stressful at times. At a time when spending time with family is supposed to be the goal, the holidays don’t always turn out like you’d like them to.

Instead, there are times when you want to pull your hair out! But wait! Don’t do that! Listen here to this family’s advice. There’s nothing a little Pinot Noir can’t fix!

It’s not a tune, but it is fun – here’s The Holderness Family with “Holiday Wine Pairings”:

Next up is an original tune that is a charming track from this group’s holiday album. The foursome deliver on the four-part harmonies as always. Most remarkable about this song is its heart-warming lyrics, which help paint a vivid picture.

Get ready to be wowed, with 98 Degrees with “Season Of Love”:

Next up is one of my favorite artists, who’s recorded great versions of various Christmas songs over the years, but this one happens to be my favorite, and often goes through my head – a lot – during this time of year.

Plus I like to annoy Princess Nagger by singing it to her at random times. In public.

Next up is a song from this artist’s Christmas album that turned into somewhat of a family affair as her daughters join her to sing at least one song with her on the album. Bet that was fun!

While all the songs on her album are well known traditional Christmas songs, this particular song (also the album title) is an original song by this artist – it’s lively and lovely and fun. I guarantee you’ll be dancing in your seat at the very least.

Last, but definitely without a doubt not least, is my all-time favorite country dude with what may be the only one-man Christmas duet ever recorded. Yes, you read that right – one man duet. 

So this artist, being all mega talented and whatnot, mixed a version of the song that was recorded in 1985 (when he was 13) when he performed on Jamboree with his current contemporary stylings to build this instant classic. I know, right?

This artist proves why he’s a favorite when he does stuff like this – and the fact that this particular song he wrote when he was just 13 years old also proves he was destined for greatness.

The sweetness of the teenage artist’s voice and self-written lyrics are what truly makes this song. It’s obvious from that early age not only with his clear beautiful voice, but with his early guitar talent as he begins the song that he, even then, was going to go far. And he has. And he’s just awesome all around.

Get ready for some goosebumps, because here’s my favorite dude, Brad Paisley, with “Born on Christmas Day”:
