Finally I’m back online! Well, I was kind of online for the last week, but not really, because our internet was whacked for some reason. It was getting dicey early last week, kept getting annoyed at the sporadic “now you see it, now you don’t” internet connectivity. Trying to get anything done was a challenge, because there were a lot of ‘hurry-up-and-wait’ moments while waiting for the internet connection to be live again.

Ironically, there was a CenturyLink truck at the bottom of our hill last Friday working, I thought one of two things would happen when he was done – 1) our internet connection would finally be stable and consistent again, or 2) it would die a thousand deaths. Guess which actually happened? You guessed it, it died a thousand deaths.

Trying to get someone out here STAT was not happening – I had to go through three customer service reps (each one asked the same questions and ran the same tests) before finally getting a tech scheduled to see what’s up yesterday (Monday) afternoon. The weekend was agonizing with intermittent connection – you don’t realize how much you rely on that connectivity until it’s not working like it should. Or at all.

When the dude got here yesterday, I swear he stood in our living room for a good 20 minutes staring at the blinking lights on the modem. I finally told him that he really should be focused on what’s going on outside, since the multiple line tests and all were done confirming the modem is fine, it’s the line outside that is not. He finally went outside and tinkered around – apparently he ended up replacing the outside connections (and was still scratching his head on why the internet wasn’t working).

Long story short – we were finally back in business internet-wise by the time the hubby got home from work. Hallelujah! So now I can actually peruse the ‘net and not run into error page after error page when the internet disconnected itself like I’d been doing alllllllll week (and weekend) long. What a relief! So yeah, I’ve got some catching up to do, don’t I?

Meanwhile, it’s hard to believe we’re already at Thanksgiving week! Where has the time flown?? Is it just me, or does Thanksgiving seem to be ‘early’ this year?

I think it’s because the fourth Thursday of November this year technically makes it a week early – seeing as how there are 5 Thursdays this year. Next year it’ll be early again – on the 22nd of November, but we’ll finally be back to the ‘normal’ non-early rotation in 2019 when Thanksgiving will actually be on the 28th, and two weeks after Princess Nagger’s birthday instead of one.

It’s the little things, yo! When Thanksgiving is early, it solidifies that ‘rush’ between Halloween and Christmas where Thanksgiving gets kind of smushed in there and hurried through to get to the hurry hurry hurry of the Christmas season (and shopping). Well, unless you’re like me, and do some shopping all year ’round. But hopefully you’re not like me and forget where you’ve stashed the stuff you bought during the summer months, because they were the perfect thing to get that special someone.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – I really need to learn the art of not blinking, because every time I blink, time flies past at lightning speed!

I love this time of year, so I really do need to slow down like a turtle to enjoy the season thoroughly. You with me, fellow turtles?

Now that retailers seem to be gearing up for the aforementioned shopping, a friend posted this Target ad on Facebook – look closely, can you see what’s wrong with this picture? It’s not too hard to miss – you can click on it to make it bigger if necessary:

Bet that dude is real handy around the house! Get it?!

You know those ‘family’ stickers on the back windows of vehicles? I literally laughed out loud when I saw this one:

What’s even funnier is Princess Nagger was looking over my shoulder as I was posting this and also got a good laugh – but the kicker is, she thought the money bags were bags of garbage… think about that one!

Some might be offended with this next one, but it gave me a good laugh as well:

And finally, I’ll leave this one here for you:

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.

Wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Glad your Internet is up and running again. It’s aggravating when it doesn’t work. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Does seem like this year has went by way too fast. Took me a couple minutes to see what was wrong in the Target ad!

  2. Hooray for internet, yes, Thanksgiving is very early this year, and your funnies are very funny! It’s about time dads grew an extra hand like we moms have had forever.
