Weather News, Awesome Photobomb, and Random Funnies: It’s what RaNdOm is all about!

Hallelujah! The has finally subsided! After 56 consecutive days of no , we finally got a reprieve Saturday night, which not only cleared out the smoke laden air, but cooled the temperatures down to a reasonable level. I believe we also broke the record of 15 consecutive days of temperatures above 80. We might have just missed breaking that record, but who’s counting – it’s been dang hot!

Apparently this is a record-breaking year overall, because back in April we broke the rainfall record. So you know this mega hot dry spell was trying to even things out. Between October and April measured 44.7 inches of rain – the wettest such period since records began in 1895. Crazy, no?

We of course had record breaking rain last year, too (and the first year we moved back to the Seattle area from Pennsylvania, which had my hubby, who was born in Maryland and had never lived in this area ever, begin to second guess the decision to move back here…heh! I tried to reassure him that this was not normal, that growing up here we rarely ever had that kind of rain and subsequent long hot summer days, but I’m not sure he was buying it.

The saving grace, however, is that when it’s hot here, it’s not humid (usually – though a few days towards the end of this recent hot dry spell it was getting pretty humid) so he didn’t mind that part so much. The rain, on the other hand, he would happily do without. Though I reminded him that the rain in PA was just as bad – if not more so, because it would come down in mega buckets instead of a gentle rain.

Luckily he’s convinced we made the right decision moving here, back to my roots. How’s the been in your neck of the woods?

Now that we’ve covered the weather, how about some funnies? This photobomb was making the rounds on Facebook over the weekend, and it’s absolutely priceless:

This kitty meme cracked me up, too:

About StacyUncorked

After 20+ years in the Corporate World and years of infertility, Stacy was surprised when Princess Nagger made her miraculous appearance - deciding to forgo the career and stay home was a no-brainer. As if her hands weren't full enough, 8 years later she and her husband added Little Dude through adoption, adding a whole new dimension (of crazy) to their family and even more sleepless nights. When she’s not refereeing kids, dogs and cats, she loves to write, hence the reason she decided to start her little blog, and because she never got a baby book to mark milestones, this was the next best thing. She also enjoys doing reviews and giveaways for products she or her family would willingly use and can stand behind. She loves to cook and try new techniques to turn ordinary into extraordinary. Crafty by nature, she takes on a lot of unique projects and enjoy seeing the end result. Her favorite, of course, is making her award winning wine out of fruits and grapes. Experiments with water currently underway.

  1. It’s been in the 100’s here for over a week, and it’s super humid, too. But I can’t picture myself living in another state. Loved your funnies, especially the cats. I really got a lick out of that! Have a great week!

  2. Glad the weather is a bit cooler there and you got some needed rain. Our swamp weather is as usual, hot with the chance of a thunderstorm almost every afternoon. We don’t get a storm every afternoon, but there’s the possibility, and sometimes one area will get rain and another won’t. It evens out, and we are used to it.

That daddy, dog and baby photo is beautiful!
