Oh lordy, I’m so very late getting this post up – that reminds me of this:

I’m late, I’m late for
A very important date.
No time to say hello, good-bye,
I’m late, I’m late, I’m late
I’m late and when I wave,
I lose the time I save.
My fuzzy ears and whiskers
Took me too much time to shave.
I run and then I hop, hop, hop,
I wish that I could fly.
There’s danger if I dare to
Stop and here’s a reason why:
I’m over-due, I’m in a rabbit stew.
Can’t even say good-bye,
Hello, I’m late, I’m late, I’m late.

Good morning, Mr. Chatterbox
I don’t have time to chatter
For in 6 and 7/8th minutes I must meet with the Mad Hatter
I’m late, I’m late, I’m late
I can’t be late for Alice
Or the Queen of Hearts who lives up in the palace.

Normally I have this post written and scheduled to go live at 8 pm PST – not today, though! Today I spent an awesome and fun day with my sister, who’s here from Kansas to help my mom with my dad. I was very happy to have the opportunity to give her a break, plus we never ever ever run out of conversation.

And she’s the first family member to scope out our new house – score!

So since I really need to get to bed, I’m going to share a funny text exchange I saw on Bored Panda last week – the background, from BP is this:

A 35-year-old man from Wisconsin was enjoying his day off from work recently when a text suddenly appeared in his inbox. “Hunny please grab milk and lunch meet on your way home,” read the message. Given that the man, who goes by the name of velakskin, was already at home, and given that he didn’t recognize the number, he figured that the sender had obviously contacted the wrong person. Despite repeatedly trying to convince them of this however, the sender refused to believe that they weren’t talking to Jess, their own 18-year-old daughter. And as you can see below, things escalated pretty quickly…

This is one of those incidents where you say you can’t make this stuff up!

It’s time once again for Leslie’s (aka Rory Bore) Tuesday Coffee Chat!

The question or prompt for this week is:

Tuesday, May 9th, 2017

“It’s my birthday and Mother’s Day soon… what should I do?

Have the Mother of all Birthdays! Sorry, I couldn’t resist the play on words…well, OK, I could, but chose not to!

Actually, I think you need wine and chocolate for your birthday. Or better yet, how about wine and Red Wine Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Cream Cheese Frosting and Chocolate Ganache:

Whatever you do, you do you. And have a Happy Birthday!

Annnnnd good night my peeps! “See” you tomorrow! That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.

  1. Stacy,

The text dialogue is hilarious. It’s too unbelievable to believe. Can someone really go on at length like this and not think, “Hmmm, maybe I have the wrong number.” The closest I got to this was the time DH asked me to take a picture of the commode seat so he could stop at Home Depot to buy a replacement, but instead of sending it to him I sent it to someone else by mistake. Yeah, this was before the day of smartphones where it’s a ton easier to not make such a goof up like the said conversation above. You just gotta wonder about people IF this was indeed an actual texting conversation. Oh well…it did give me a good laugh and that’s all the matters, right?

Mmm, that chocolate cake looks really good. Can I have mine but hold the red wine (in the glass and the cake)! 🙂 Did you make this cake? It looks great! So glad you got to spend time with your sis. How is your dad doing? Thanks for hosting the random fun, my dear and have a good day!

  2. While i’ve had a couple of wrong number text conversations, they didn’t go on that long or get that crazy.

Your father is still in my prayers, and i hope you have had a great time with your sister.

  3. OMG…I shared that text exchange with Bill a couple of weeks ago. People are so funny sometimes. I think it is too crazy to NOT believe.

You and yours are in my prayers. Hugs.

  4. HI stranger! OMG, the texts had me in tears from laughter. People are amazing aren’t they.

I have a lot of catching up to do. I am just starting fresh. I hope this finds you well and the new house is treating you even better.

  5. I need that text exchange to be a full length feature film. Seriously, I am throwing money at the screen right now!!! LOL
And I really need that wine and cake. That looks sooooo amazing. I’ll be doing zumba for a straight week and it will be so worth it. 🙂
