It’s time once again for some Friday fill-in fun, the perfect way to wrap up the week and kick off the weekend!

From Ann of McGuffy’s Reader:

“The Friendly Fill-Ins are four fun and easy statements to complete. Ellen of 15andmeowing provides the first two statements and the final two are offered by myself. We try to make sure they will be fun to both answer and share. On Friday, the linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM. Please come back, link up, and share your thoughts!”

And away we go! Here are this week’s statements with my fill-ins:

1. I have googled… Just about everything! I mean c’mon – what in the world did we do to find out random stuff without Google? Plus they do random cool Google logos to commemorate special days or events:

So much faster/easier/funnier to just Goggle it if you want to find out about practically everything.

2. I have… bought and sold many things on eBay.

I used to joke that during Princess Nagger’s infant and toddler stages that I was ‘renting’ her clothes because I’d buy a bunch on eBay, she’d barely wear them before she outgrew them, then I’d resell them on eBay, often times making a profit doing so. Of course, I’d also buy brand new clothes and add them to the pile to sell, so at the minimum, the clothing cost for her was a wash when it was all said and done.

My previous job, before I decided to stay home when PN was born, required the wearing of a 2-piece suit every day – I cannot tell you how satisfying it was to sell each and every one of those on eBay when I no longer had to wear them. I love that you can find just about anything on eBay – that reminds me, I have a boatload of stuff I need to get organized and listed on eBay to purge some no longer needed stuff.

3. I think… Therefore I am! I couldn’t resist. Well, OK, I could, but chose not to.

4. Princess Nagger thinks… school is boring. Which is understandable, considering she’s miles ahead in her current learning curriculum – but at least with the Virtual Academy, she isn’t sitting twiddling her thumbs while the teacher drones on for the rest of the class who aren’t on the same page as she is. She loves to draw, and has really made great strides in her technique – all self-taught, I might add! (her mama exclaims proudly…heh!)

Recently she’s been teaching herself animation – she’s done a few cool ones, but her most recent one (from yesterday) is this rough draft I think is pretty cool:

Pretty cool, no? She’d kill me if she knew I snagged this rough draft to share with you, so mum’s the word! I’ll be sure to share the finished animation – with her permission, of course.

Now it’s time to Celebrate the Small Things! I’m joining in this fun blog hop to join some awesome bloggy friends and meet new ones – click on the badge for more information and if you’d like to play along, too!

I’m celebrating that I jumped through multiple hoops in a hiring process the past couple of weeks for a virtual job – and passed with flying colors! Well, at least I think did, since I have training/orientation next Thursday to get ready to hit the ground running. It’s going to be nice to have some mad money again!

That’s a wrap! Hope you join in the fun! Check out the other Friendly Fill-Ins participants and join in if you feel the urge for some fun!

  1. Your daughter’s animation is amazing! It’s great the curriculum allows her to jump ahead and do what she wants. I hated school because I was bored too. (Well, that and I hate taking orders from anyone. Ever.) Congrats on the job and good luck with the orientation!

  2. It’s great that your daughter can work on extras instead of sitting through explanations of what she already knows. She’s a natural at drawing/animating!

Congratulations on the job, i hope it turns out to be a perfect fit.

  3. Congrats on the hoop jumping and flying colors. I hope this all works out great for you. 🙂

I think your daughter is off to a great start with her animations. I think that its great that she is even trying to do it. I have tried it before and got so frustrated that I said, “Forget this!”

    Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

  4. Oh, wow! You blew these away! You have all kinds of great things happening! Yea! I love it. Thank you for sharing your blessings here. Where there are blessings, there is hope. And, Princess…I wish her the very best with her artwork! Hugs.

  5. Thank you for these excellent fill-in answers. I love Ebay, you really can find anything on there. I think it is great that Princess Nagger is so talented. Congrats on the new job! Have a great weekend!

  6. Congrats on the job! I love Princess Nagger’s animation – so talented! I remember the days of Encyclopedias and visits to the library for any and all research. Google is like a dream come true in comparison.
