It’s time once again for some Friday fill-in fun, the perfect way to wrap up the week and kick off the weekend!

From Ann of McGuffy’s Reader:

“The Friendly Fill-Ins are four fun and easy statements to complete. Ellen of 15andmeowing provides the first two statements and the final two are offered by myself. We try to make sure they will be fun to both answer and share. On Friday, the linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM. Please come back, link up, and share your thoughts!”

And away we go! Here are this week’s statements with my fill-ins:

1. An Easter (or Passover) tradition I have is… Putting together personalized Easter Baskets for each family member – including myself, because I don’t want to be left out from the Easter Bunny’s visit, right? This was Princess Nagger and Little Dude’s loot one year:

Yes, I do tend to go a wee bit overboard! The last few years I’ve toned it down a bit, and the kids don’t seem to mind at all.

Another favorite tradition is decorating Easter Eggs – some years it’s hit-or-miss, though…I buy extra eggs then we forget to make time to color them. These were a particularly fun year we didn’t forget:

2. My favorite flavor of ice cream is… I don’t actually have a favorite – it changes based on what special flavors come out during the summer. I can’t remember the brand, or the exact flavor, but a cheesecake flavor one was my favorite a few years back. If all else fails, though, Cherry Garcia is my fall back flavor:

3. One of my favourite Easter/Passover memories is the first Easter Princess Nagger sort of remembers:

I remember it like it was yesterday, and man I wish I could go back in time and truly enjoy those fleeting moments!

4. My favourite Spring flower is… Tulips!

A tradition I had with my friends was going to a local floral farm and buying fresh flowers for our homes the first weekend of spring. Tulips were always my flower of choice, because I’d buy them as buds, and enjoy them for several weeks as they opened up beautifully. The friends scattered, but the tradition lives on – I bought myself a bouquet of tulips the first weekend of spring for our new house and quite enjoyed them!

Now it’s time to Celebrate the Small Things! I’m joining in this fun blog hop to join some awesome bloggy friends and meet new ones – click on the badge for more information and if you’d like to play along, too!

I’m celebrating that my dad seems to be making some improvements on his recovery, though it appears he’ll be stuck in the rehab place for a couple of months. Our visits will continue, though – and every time we do visit, he seems to be in good spirits, so that always makes me happy!

That’s a wrap! Hope you join in the fun! Check out the other Friendly Fill-Ins participants and join in if you feel the urge for some fun!

My tulips are getting ready to open! Yea!
Happy Easter to you & yours. Hugs.

    1. Thank you, Ann! Yes, they are indeed precious memories. I do look forward to the grandkids someday – hopefully I’ll live long enough to see that happen, what with the kids being 14 (who swears she’ll never get married or have kids) and 9! It’s going to be a while! 😉
