So yeah…. I thought I was going to have some time this past week to hang out on my computer, hop around to peruse and visit my peeps, but alas and alack, that didn’t come to pass! Hopefully I can get caught up this week.

What I did do, though, was make some major progress in unpacking boxes! So. Many. Boxes!!

At least now the maze inside the house has been reduced to a much smaller not-going-to-get-lost maze, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. What I didn’t do, yet, though, is take pictures – I know you guys are jonesin’ to see the inside from a real person lens vs. the realtor lens, those will hopefully be coming next week, since my best laid plans of taking pictures yesterday while everyone was at school was thwarted by this:

PanoramicDeckView

That’s the panoramic view from the covered portion of our deck, looking out on our cool view of the small town. Be sure to click on the picture to see what an amazing view we have. We got about a foot of snow Sunday into Monday – so yesterday was a Snow Day not only for the kids, but the hubby, too. Having them underfoot trying to take pictures was not happening.

But we sure did enjoy winter’s last hurrah with this snow – the first snow in our new house. I took these pictures on Sunday as the snow was falling – and yes, I referred to the snowfall as the Super Bowl Snow because….well see for yourself:

SnowAndSuperBowl

Ignore the wires in the above picture – I’m waiting for a bracket to attach our sound bar to the TV above it so I can hide all the wires instead of having them hang in front of the fireplace like that…heh!

The snow was really coming down – I really do love the view from our deck:

This is looking out our front living room window:

And another shot off the deck a little while later – because the view!

And of course you can’t miss seeing the view from my kitchen window:

The hubby is looking forward to spring so we can trim up the wild growing bushes and trees (that have been long neglected as the house was vacant for a couple of years) so we can enjoy an even better view.

We were all excited about the snow, and watching it fall like crazy (and pile up) what we didn’t think about, before the roads were covered, is that we had nary a snow shovel (or ANY shovel for that matter) to dig ourselves out. Ooops.

So I decided it was time to test my all wheel drive down the hill to the hardware store. A little slippin’ and slidin’, but made it there and back, and the hubby spent time clearing the walks so impending deliveries could be delivered safely.

The lady at the hardware store recommended getting a manure shovel, so we did – it’s sturdier, and can be used for other things when the time comes (Princess Nagger wants us to get chickens – we are, after all, in what she has dubbed “Egg-Town”. Plus, no HOA, so we can have chickens! Woot!) That will be in our future (springtime) plans for sure. Can’t argue with fresh eggs, right?

Oh, I also managed to wrangle my treadmill down to what I refer to as the ‘common area’ in the basement:

TreadmillBasement

The movers couldn’t get it down there, because it had to be partially dismantled to do so, so they put it in the living room. No way did I want it to stay there, so I figured out how to dismantle it (I put it together when I got it, so how hard could it be, right?!) and managed to get it down to the basement one step at a time. All. By. Myself!!

That sucker is heavy! It took almost a whole day to get it down the stairs, but I was so happy when I got it done. Now to get power along that wall, and my little workout area will be ready for it’s premiere! Pictures to come!

It’s time once again for Leslie’s (aka Rory Bore) Tuesday Coffee Chat!

The question or prompt for this week is:

“Random! Every now and then I like to give you a chance to just untangle your thoughts. Dessert recipes also acceptable. Encouraged.

Well, OK, I’ve got the random part of the Coffee Chat down… How about sharing this recipe from awhile ago? You like brownies, yes? Then you’ll love these brownies I used to make with my mom as a kid, and now Princess Nagger helps me make them (usually). (Sometimes). (She helps eat them). Enjoy!

Yummy Brownie Recipe

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.

  1. I absolutely love all of these pictures! Looks so beautiful and picturesque. However, I couldn’t deal with snow. No way. I’m a wimp when it comes to the cold. But it is pretty. I hope your move is going well. So happy for you!

    1. Thank you so much, Dee! I do love the picturesque vision of snow – I think I love it because we don’t get it very often, and it pretties-up dreary winter. 😉 Our move is going well, I’m making lots of progress on unpacking! Can’t wait to get it all done so I can relax and enjoy this awesome house! 🙂

  2. I gotta admit, the snow pictures are pretty. But I prefer to see it in pictures. I hate the snow and am so glad we haven’t had much of it yet this year.

    1. It sure is pretty to look at, isn’t it, Terra? You and my aunt are on the same page – haters of snow! But that’s OK, we can still be friends! 😉

  3. Stacy, looks like everything is going lovely at your place! What’s that white stuff? I bet the kids loved seeing snow, huh? We got a little last month (2 to 3 in.). I’m trying to get my groove back with regularly scheduled hops before DH lost his job. I hope you don’t mind me linking up today. Next week, I promise to include a backlink to your blog from my post. Recipes? Okay, I have one for you. Make a classic Rice Krispy Treats, except use either Fruit Pebbles or Cocoa Pebbles. I made these for our Super Bowl weekend celebration. Both were excellent but we agreed that we preferred the chocolate ones the best! I hope to share this recipe on my site soon. 🙂 Have a randomtastic day and it’s good to see you back in Blogosphere, my friend!

    1. LOL Cathy! Yep, the kids (and me) love the snow! It’s a rare thing in this area, so when we do get it, we appreciate it. 🙂 We’re in the same boat trying to get back into a regular blogging routine – we’ll get there together! You know, I have thought about trying making the Rice Krispy Treats with fruity pebbles – I bet the hubby would really love the chocolate ones since he’s a huge chocoholic! 🙂 Thank you very much – it’s good to be back, and always great to see you! 🙂

      1. Stacy, both versions are excellent and a good a variation of an old childhood treat. Your hubs WILL like the Cocoa Pebbles treats a lot! 😀 I like to see snow and I don’t mind if it sticks a bit but when the roads get dangerous then my smile turns into a frown. We will get back on track with blogging together, my friend! Have an excellent day.

  4. We want to get chickens in our next house too! I know the kids won’t like shoveling poop but hey, it comes with the territory.

    1. Poop shoveling definitely comes with the territory…heh!! The kids are excited about getting chickens, and we have a perfect spot for a chicken coop in the backyard. What’s funny is our next door neighbors have 8 chickens, and the neighbors below us at the bottom of the hill have chickens too, so Princess Nagger is anxious to ‘catch up’! 🙂

    1. Thank you, Ellen! Yes, there are 4 finished rooms in the basement – one is going to be set up as my dedicated craft room, one is going to be set up as my winemaking room (especially since that room is plumbed for a kitchen, so I’ll be adding cabinets, counter tops and a sink!), one room is going to be set up as a game/guest room (with its own private bath), and the final room happens to be the coolest room in the house (and has no windows) so that will be my wine storage room, eventually I’ll turn it into a bonafide wine cellar. 🙂 I’m loving this house so much! 🙂

  5. Well your landscape view looks exactly like mine! Except mine has been like that for months now. LOL and that is quite the view indeed. Boxes – ugh. I swear the thing that keeps me from moving is the thought of all the boxes. Because I have to unpack them in record time and it’s just… ugh.
Good for you with the treadmill! I would have just not worked out – ha.
    Brownies are always good. 🙂

  6. How lovely to see snowfall. Makes it genuinely winter =) Congratulations on your move…I’ve included my Japanese Setsubun Brownies for your linky party. Hope you enjoy…the brownies and your new home!
