You guyyyyyyys! I’m so tiiiirrrrrrrrrred! OK, so you know that I used to be a player in Corporate America. I mean, I did the whole ‘work my way up the ladder’ bit and wore suits and heels and generally spent 40-60 hours a week working my butt off. Then along came Princess Nagger, and because my work schedule wasn’t going to be conducive to her baby schedule, and eventually her school schedule, I opted to stay home with her and do other stuff, like OOAK Barbies and eBay and eventually winemaking.

Then of course along came my blog, and I was doing way more than I am now, because the passion was there. The flame is still there, so the passion could very well reignite, don’t worry about me going anywhere anytime soon, but please be patient with me as I muddle through the paradigm shift that’s currently taking place.

One of which is working a full time job from home. Yep, I finally found an actual legitimate job to do from home that I’ll be working 40 hours a week, and opted for working those 40 hours in 4 days, so Sunday through Wednesday I have to set my alarm for 3:15 a.m. so I can be reasonably alert by 4am. I know, right?!

Sunday was my first day, rife with technical difficulties as the IT department tried to sort out the influx of us new hires all having the same problem. I also imagine that the time change over the weekend probably contributed to some of the system snafus. And, you know, trying to log in multiple times because you know your password was input correctly results in you getting locked out of the system.

Not like I found that out firsthand the hard way, making the first couple of hours on Monday a little hair-pulling frustrating. But now you know why I’m so tired, though very grateful we had that extra hour of sleep Saturday night, since I still only got between 4 and 5 hours – I’m going to need to force myself to go to bed earlier.

Now this job is only ‘seasonal’, meaning through the holiday season, but it could very well turn into a full time gig if I prove myself worthy. And I intend to prove myself worthy, because I know I’m going to enjoy having mad money again.

And of course we’re in the throes of selling our house – we’ve dropped the price, and had a few more showings, but man, I would really really love to get an offer so we can put a legit offer on the house we found that will be perfect for us. In a perfect world, those two scenarios would happen today or tomorrow so we could possibly close on my birthday December 9th.

I know, I’m a dreamer – but wouldn’t that be the ultimate birthday gift? I think so! I’m not going to share pictures of the awesome house we want to buy yet, because I totally don’t want to jinx it. But you’ll see, it’s perfect.  Especially since it’s an older house (that’s been completely updated), but definitely not old old  like the Flintstones house:

I’m also scheduled for surgery at the end of this month, with a 2-night hospital stay and the normal 6-8 week recovery time – so if we’re going to move, I better get what I want packed up done so I can rest and recover easy. So much going on all at once! But it’s all good.

And while I don’t ever like talking about politics and/or religion, can I just say today is a day that will go down in history, voting for the lesser of two evils, whomever that might be. All I can say is with either candidate, the next four years will be…….. interesting. Just sayin’.

Moving on… These are just plain funny:

It’s time once again for Leslie’s (aka Rory Bore) Tuesday Coffee Chat!

The question or prompt for this week is:

“I’m going to give you a challenge for the rest of this month. I want you to think about something in your life you’d like to focus on – just for you – and commit to that task. Maybe it will require a daily check in. Maybe only weekly. Perhaps it’s writing a certain number of words per day. Or a photo a day. The only rule is that it is For YOU. Your need.

OK! Challenge accepted! I’m sure I can think of something. Check back next week to see what my foggy brain comes up with! And as I adjust to this new schedule (and not being able to be online in the ‘real world’ for 10 hours while I’m working those 4 days a week because of proprietary information and sneaky hackers), I’ll suss out the best day to go around to do my blog hopping catch-up. It might be Friday or Saturday for some unfettered time, we’ll see.

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.

  1. working at home? Awesome! My dream! Loved your PETA sticker on your cat. LOL I’ll be thinking about you when you have surgery. Mine is the 17th. Not sure on the recovery because it depends what he finds when he gets in there. Have a good week!

  2. I can relate to being busy and not wanting to bog. I put in the amount of effort I can handle and I stopped worrying about readers, etc. I think I found a nice happy medium. Good luck with everything!!

  3. Wow – I think your month is already a challenge!! Ha.
Hopefully all goes smoothly between new job, house and surgery and you still find time to indulge the things you enjoy (wine) – hee
I am so nervous for America today!! It’s crazy, because it doesn’t really affect me, but then again, being Canadian and thus your neighbours, it does kinda affect me … and really I just hope that the outcome is definitely in your favour!
