Today is a very special day! You know why? I’m glad you asked! Because this happened 14 years ago today:

Mom-and-PN-an-Hour-Old-11-15-02

How on God’s green earth has 14 years already sped by?! All this time I’ve searched long and hard, high and low for that elusive pause button, but alas and alack, it never materialized. So my little bundle of joy is only 2 years away from her driver’s license.

Her driver’s license, people!

So if you have any plans for any road trips or anything, you’d best take care of them in the next two years. If I can’t find that pause button, can someone hit the one that makes things go in slow motion? No? You’re no help!

Happy Birthday, Princess Nagger!

Fourteen years ago, I saw your beautiful face for the first time. Fourteen years ago, I held you in my arms for the first time. Today, you are nearly as tall as I am and we wear the same size shoe (which means my stash of shoes has grown smaller, as you’ve snagged your favorites for yourself. You’ll never find my super secret stash, though!)

I am excited for your future. You have such amazing talents but don’t even truly know it. You’ve still harbored an interest in becoming a future Paleontologist – I may not show it, but I absolutely love listening to you go on and on about dinosaurs (just please never ask if I was born when dinosaurs roamed the earth like you did when you were four).

RedSpike

You still march to the beat of your own drum, and that’s a quality I hope you never ever lose, because I love you just the way you are.

You constantly amaze me with your creative talent, especially with what a phenomenal an artist you are. Never stop drawing – it’s truly a God-given talent that needs to continue to nurture and grow, just like you. I cannot wait to see what the years ahead bring for you.

Let’s simply start with this one. Fourteen is going to be a good one. I can feel it.

I Love You to the moon and stars, bouncing around the Milky Way and back again!

And now, back to our regularly scheduled program…

It’s Tuesday, and if you missed my post yesterday, I’m here to tell you we’re moving! Yes indeed, we finally got an offer we couldn’t refuse on our current house. The downside (if there really is one) is that the buyers closing date is December 23rd.

The day before Christmas Eve.

**gulp!**

Since they expect to take possession of the house on that same day, we have our work cut out for us. You remember how hectic it was when we were packing up to move from PA to WA, right? A mere three years ago? Well, it’s only going to be half as hectic, but the problem lies in that we still need to have an offer accepted on a house we want to buy.

And try to coordinate our closing to coincide with the buyers of our house. Since the seller’s realtor of the house we put an offer in on Saturday has been dragging her feet, there’s a strong possibility our closing date will end up happening the week after Christmas. At least I hope it actually happens then.

If our offer isn’t accepted (or a reasonable counter-offer offered), we’re back to square one on finding the perfect house (for us) to move into. Which means, if we don’t hear back today on the house we want (or we find out someone beat us to the punch), the earliest we can go look at more houses is Saturday. Can you tell it’s stressing me out a bit? I’m not a very good ‘hurry-up-and-wait’ person.

Meanwhile, we need to figure out the logistics of possibly being homeless between Christmas and New Year – we have to figure out if we want to go the excessively expensive way of loading our stuff on Uboxes/Pods, or shuttling our stuff and paying for a ginormous storage unit until we close on a house and can move in and finally get settled.

We will be working in hyper-speed for sure. Of course four days of each week my time is monopolized by my new job – I’m unavailable for anything from 4am until 3:30pm, which doesn’t leave a whole lot of time on those days to get what I need done, done. And to top it off, I have surgery scheduled for the end of this month, rendering me useless for 3 days, plus 6-8 weeks of recovery thereafter.

Right smack dab in the middle of all this moving fiasco.

It’s going to make for an interesting (and moving at the speed of light) finish to this year, isn’t it?

That being said, I need to step away from my blog during this crazy time, because I’ve been neglectful enough to you awesome readers and friends, and I don’t want to drop my already way-too-full plate and have it shatter in a million pieces, never to be put together like Humpty Dumpty.

But have no fear! It’s only a temporary stay of execution! I fully intend to be back after the first of the year, armed with way more interesting blog fodder than you can shake a stick at, especially since I’ll have to catch you up on all the excitement that will be transpiring between now and then, right? Right?!!!

Remember… It’s only temporary. And only until January, so please do come back and see what kind of trouble I’ll be causing in the new year, m’kay? But first, I will leave you with this:

It’s time once again for Leslie’s (aka Rory Bore) Tuesday Coffee Chat!

The question or prompt for this week is:

“You can take these November chats to update about your personal task for the month, or; share a Currently post: what you’re reading, listening, watching, eating, wearing, etc.”

Well, I think I’ve pretty much covered that in this post already, right? I’ll be back to have some coffee with y’all after the first of the year! I’ll leave the light on for you, as in leave the linky open so you can come back whenever you want to add a link to it so I can keep tabs on what you’re doing while I’m gone, too. When you least expect it, I’ll be there!

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.
