It’s time once again for some Friday fill-in fun, the perfect way to wrap up the week and kick off the weekend! A week-and-a-half-ish before the kids start back at school – hopefully I’ll get all caught up and not so scatterbrained by then. OK, fine – I couldn’t type that last sentence with a straight face!

From Ann of McGuffy’s Reader:

“The Friendly Fill-Ins are four fun and easy statements to complete. Ellen of 15andmeowing provides the first two statements and the final two are offered by myself. We try to make sure they will be fun to both answer and share. On Friday, the linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM. Please come back, link up, and share your thoughts!”

And away we go! Here are this week’s statements with my fill-ins:

Week 16: August 26, 2016

1. I wish JELLO would bring back JELLO 1-2-3:

Jello123

Introduced in 1969 and discontinued in 1996, this ULTIMATE JELLO SUPREME PACKAGE OF DELIGHT was separated into three distinct textural layers: a creamy top, a mousse-like middle, and plain Jello bottom. Funny thing is, I never made this jello – but now that it’s no longer in existence, I want it!

2. An act of kindness that I do often is letting someone in line in front of me at checkout. Even if they have more in their cart than I do, if it’s a frazzled mom with ansty kids, or elderly folk looking really tired, I let them get ahead of me so they can get out of there faster.

I also smile at everyone I make eye contact with, and say ‘good morning’ or ‘good afternoon’ or ‘have a nice day’ – sometimes people look at me funny when I smile at them. Other times people ask why I smile all the time – I tell them it’s to keep people guessing what I’m up to.

3. I still have freckles from my childhood. Growing up, I didn’t like them, because I was the only one of my siblings that had them – luckily just tastefully sprinkled across my nose, but still. My mom said she had freckles on her nose when she was a kid, but they went away at some point. I read in one of my multitudes of books (I’ve always been a bookworm) that if you rub lemon juice on your freckles before going out in the sun, they’ll go away. I did it, they didn’t even fade, but boy did I smell lemony!

I discovered I was in good company with my dusting of freckles, though – many of my favorite stars have freckles (but you’d never know it, since they get covered up with makeup) like Lucy Liu:

4. If I didn’t have God in my life, I’d be completely lost. That goes for my miracle child, Princess Nagger, too.

That’s a wrap! Hope you join in the fun! As a side note, we were off camping last weekend with absolutely positively no internet connection (believe me, I tried – even had my Karma with me to try to connect) so I’m way behind making the rounds for last week – I’ll be rectifying that later.

  1. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I must have had my head in the sand for years because I never saw the jello 1-2-3 , it does look like fun. Freckles are cute 🙂 and they make one look younger so enjoy. Have a great weekend!

  2. Trust me – lemon juice definitely does NOT work. In fact, I think it multiplied my freckles in the sun! And being of Celtic heritage — I got WAY more than a light dusting. LOL I have learned to just accept them.
I love your response to people questioning your smiley nature. Way to keep them guessing! 🙂

  3. Stacy, Oh for sure, if I didn’t have God in my life I would be tee-totally lost. I don’t know how people walk through life without the Man upstairs. He’s my rock and reassurance that all will be fine in the world even when everything is falling apart. Good fill-ins!

  4. I love your answers. I am in agreement with #4. God has gotten me through so many things…and still does. I rely on Him.

Now I want that Jello. Yum.

Thank you for being a part of Friendly Fill-Ins. We love you guys. With Summer coming to a close, I plan to get back to my usual routine. I will be going back to Mayo Clinic this Fall, so hope to get some resolution for my health issues, too. I appreciate your patience and understanding very much. Hugs.
