It’s that time of year! School is finally out for the summer. I know, I know – some of you are thinking “What the heck?! Why so late?!” it’s because in our area we don’t start school in August, we wait until after Labor Day to sequester the kids for learning.

It used to be the end of the school year was more towards the beginning of June, but extra days off were instigated throughout the school year, hence the extremely late (in my mind) start to summer break.

It’s always amazing to see how much the kids have grown in a mere school year – this year was certainly no different.

Princess Nagger’s start to 7th Grade:

Little Dude’s start to 2nd Grade:

Every year it gets more and more obvious I need to learn how not to blink.

  1. All I want to know is are we having fun yet??? It seems like all I’m doing is working. First there’s bringing out all the summer things like the furniture, and the hose etc etc etc… ooops, but first you have to clean up from winter… pulling weeds and picking up the garbage etc., and then you have to plant your things needed for upkeep, and not to mention getting the vegetable garden ready and planted, and now you have to maintain it to say the least, and you want me to what exercise by walking around the park and other things??? ARE YOU NUTS!!!! BWAHAHAHAHA HAPPY SUMMER MY FRIEND!

    1. Yeah I have to agree, glad I did a lot of that during the spring, so basically end of March and May. Thus just the maintenance remains and enjoy the weather.

  2. Nice. The district I work in begins in mid-August and ends in the end of May. They figured out that if they end school in May that they don’t have to pay for benefits for the ones for another month that they lay off.

    Sad but true.

  3. Yes it’ amazing how time goes so quick when you look back I can see the difference in those photos nice ones too 🙂

Have a tanfastic week Stacy 🙂

  4. Just think – it won’t be long until you see the Back to School sales going on! Glad you made it to summer at last. We have to blink, Stacy – it’s the only way we get a rest!
