Have you ever had those weeks or months or whatever where you just aren’t motivated? Yeah, that’s been me lately. Too much going on, not enough time and certainly not enough brain power. Well no, I mean I have the brain power, it’s just in overdrive – and overload – mode lately. I’ve just been in a funk.

This too shall pass. Hopefully.

One of our cats apparently thinks that the only thing the hubby wants to do is play. Granted, the hubby likes to annoy the cats, so I think she’s got him figured out and knows to be armed with her teeth and claws when he pays attention to her. When I saw this floating around on Facebook last week, it totally fit their little scenario:

This also cracked both Princess Nagger and I up when we saw it, too (sorry about the language to those that might get offended):

Speaking of dogs and cats – we’re getting a puppy! I know, I know, we’re crazy. but hey, at least even though I’m the one stuck at home with the menagerie, it’s not all cats, so therefore I won’t be the crazy cat lady. Just crazy.

The puppy is this exact one right here:

Rye

Isn’t he adorable?!  He’s a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Rescue – if you remember, I had a previous Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier that I’d adopted from the Humane Society in Michigan way back in ’93 or ’94 – he was the best dog ever and lived until he crossed the rainbow bridge in 2007. Worst day of my life.

We currently have two shelties, but I’ve been jonesin’ for another Wheaten (which are very similar in personality to Labradoodles and Goldendoodles and even look similar when they grow up), so I had signed up for alerts from the Wheaten Rescue group and this little cutie popped up with his brother and three sisters. I filled out the required application to put my name in the hat for either he or his brother, and was very happy to get notified that we could bring this little guy home!

He’s actually in Idaho, which is about a 7-10 hour drive, so they’re working out some sort of transportation where we can meet them somewhere without having to drive all the way there. Looking forward to finding out where our mini road trip will be taking us, and bringing this little cutie home!

Of course I’m going to have to remember the – ahem – ‘joy’ of potty training and all that fun stuff, but luckily those things become distant memories once you get through them. Kind of like the terrible two’s and the tween angst, right?

Now that you’ve enjoyed cute cat-dog-puppy pics, it’s time for a good laugh:

You know you’re going to try it now, aren’t you?

Get it? Get it?!

It’s time once again for Leslie’s (aka Rory Bore) Tuesday Coffee Chat!

This week’s prompt or question is:

“How’s it Hanging? Tell us about one of your favourite hangouts.”

That’s actually a tough one, because I don’t have any favorite hangouts here in Washington yet. I did have some great ones in PA, though, like the back patio of our farmhouse admiring the stream we created to the pond:

ThePond

I tried to find pictures of the Summer House that looks over this, or the Back 40 where I planted grape vines and Princess Nagger loved to play, but I need to organize the zillions of photos I have and not have them scattered over three different auxiliary drives. I know, right?! Soon.

While it’s been the desire to move back ‘home’ so I can feast my gaze on a version of this daily:

MtRainierViewedFromTacoma

I miss the awesome farmhouse we had out there with the Summer House out back and the room – the glorious room – to fit everything effectively without feeling like the walls are closing in on you.

I miss the gloriously large backyard – someday we’ll have something like that again, this is just an interim as we get re-acclimated to the area and rebuild our savings since the housing prices here vs. PA are astonishingly skewed (as in you get way more house for your buck out there than out here).

So patience is going to be necessary on my part, and hopefully I’ll discover some great hangouts sooner rather than later. And new friends. Maybe some of my new hangouts can be with new friends. Any takers on that?

Meanwhile I plan to work on my She-Shed this summer – that will undoubtedly end up being a favorite hangout once I get done!

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.

  1. I actually had to ask someone about that baseball meme. He explained…then made fun of me. That LEGO meme made me outright laugh. That puppy is adorable. Congrats on adding the pup to your family.

    1. I love that you had to ask someone about that baseball game! I would have thought you’d have known about it, so thanks for the laugh at your conundrum. 😉 I’m gonna have to get some raspberries and create my own little LEGO creation – playing with food is always fun. 🙂 Thanks for the congrats – and thanks for hanging in with me so diligently even when I’m a slacker! 🙂

  2. I get it! Hu’s on first! Haha! Good one! That puppy is too adorable! If we ever get another dog, and that’s a big if, I want something cute. My step-daughter got a dog around Christmas time, and she paid a lot for it, but it’s just ugly! And big. And I’m thankful it doesn’t live here anymore. Not too bright. But I digress. I love cats! And I love all your hangout photos. I would never go anywhere else!

  3. Totally our cat. “You will pet me for exactly 4.23 seconds, no more – no less; or I climb you like a ##@Y#@Y curtain.” Cats right? Hey – can send one of those cute little pups half way to me in Ontario?? It is my birthday soon – just saying. 🙂
Your hangouts are beautiful. I’d love that mountain view. All I got from my backyard – are the neighbours backyards. And fences. Some have nice gardens, but they tend to frown at me when I hang over my own fence to get a picture of their garden. LOL

  4. The puppy is adorable. I totally understand what you mean when you say, “Worst day of my life.” I’ve been there.

  5. Awww So Cute 🙂 I love puppy.. puppy is adorable… great article thanks for sharing 🙂
