I’m having trouble coming up with anything random today, mostly because everyone’s home from school and work, so the interruptions are rampant. Let’s just go with a few funnies from Facebook, shall we?
How about this randomly funny vet who changes their sign with some hilarious stuff:
I like doctors and vets that have a sense of humor – or at least that their office staff does (and boy, do I miss the dentist office in PA – the staff there was always hilarious!)
And of course there’s this for a giggle:
That’s all the random I have for today…I know, pretty whacked, but next week I promise I’ll ramble randomly.
It’s time once again for Rory Bore’s Tuesday Chat!
This week’s prompt or question is:
Dance like no one is watching. Who are you when no one is watching?
The first thing that came to mind when I saw that prompt is this awesome song by one of my favorite country artists, Blake Shelton:
The official music video wasn’t available for embedding, but you can see it here: Blake Shelton Who Are You When I’m Not Looking Video – it’s a great video, you should check it out. I’ll wait.
For the most part, what you see is what you get. I do tend to march to the beat of my own drum, something Princess Nagger inherited from me. I like that in many ways she’s my Mini Me.
I do have the tendency to be shy when I’m around new people or in a large group – especially a large group of new people. But once I warm up, and/or get to know people, my quirky personality shines through.
When I’m here all by myself I’m not dancing in my underwear or sitting on the couch eating bonbons and watching soap operas (though I may jokingly tell people that just to mess with their heads). I might, however, be eating peas and carrots straight from the can (the only canned vegetable I buy – all the others are fresh or frozen) while watching a favorite show. Say what?!
And yes, I crank up the tunes when I’m working around the house, singing to my favorite songs like a rock star (in my head) and might even break out into a little dance that would embarrass Princess Nagger if she saw me doing so. Though it’s up for debate when she gets to dating age that I may or may not do something like that on purpose. I’ll keep you posted.
I’m also one of those people that if I’m sad or having a bad day, I hibernate. Lose myself in tear-jerker movies so I either forget about what’s making me sad, feel better about what’s making me sad, or just have the perfect opportunity to cry it out. If I’m not alone, I’ll end up ducking into the bathroom for a good cry if the need arises. That way no one else feels bad that I’m feeling bad, if that makes sense.
It takes extra button-pushing to get me mad, but when I do, I slam doors. And sometimes yell. But I never break anything, because that won’t solve anything (and might make me more mad – at myself – because it’s wasteful). But really, I’m a lover, not a fighter.
Like I said – what you see is what you get. While there are some days I might be smiling when I’m not smiling inside, what others see is the real me – flaws and all.
That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. And that means even if you don’t have a specific Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel post posted, you can still link up, I’m not picky. You don’t even have to add the badge, just link up so I can come harass you on your blog. I promise to play nice.
Link up your Random (or not) here:
I’ve also decided to adopt Xmas Dolly’s idea of adding an additional linky just to encourage more followers where you need it most. We can all use more followers, right? So feel free to link up any post on the first linky, and a follower linky on the second one. Let’s see if we can party like rock stars!
Link up where you need to gain more followers here:
Keeping the random alive (barely) – feel free to snag a badge and play along – one for my wino friends:
And one for my non-wino friends:
