10 Days, people! I have a lot to get done in those short 10 days. Only 5 more days before the kids are off for Winter Break, so really I only have FIVE more days to get things done.
I might need to seek professional help.
I’m late with my tunes, so let’s jump right in, shall we? The month of December is themed with Christmas music, naturally, so let’s have some fun!
Let’s start off with artist who made a moving version of this particular song a few years ago. The artist sat perched on a bar stool with a full orchestra backing him on the song that allowed viewers to feel as if he was wrapping a warm blanket around each and every one of them while he sang in front of the fireplace.
Give a listen to Keith Urban with “The Christmas Song”:
Next up is a lively tune that has two versions – the original one, and this holiday version. The writers decided they wanted to write something that would make them all laugh and smile, and the artist said it was the stupidest song he ever heard in his life, but also “freakin’ awesome”.
The original music video was the winner for the 2012 CMA Awards for the category of Music Video of the Year.
Here’s Toby Keith with “Red Solo Cup” (Holiday Edition):
Next up is a song by a young pop artist who last year released her first Christmas EP, that had a total of four songs. Back in October she first mentioned this particular song, saying she didn’t want to do a Christmas song at first, but changed her mind. It is her favorite Christmas song out of all the ones she’d recorded so far.
She officially announced the song and its title on her Twitter page on November 13, 2014.
Finally, when it comes to Christmas music, there are few songs that are universally loved or hated more than this particular song. While this song has been performed time and time again by basically every pairing you could imagine, this particular version was performed on one of my favorite shows on ABC, Nashville.
On the flirty and countrified version of the song, both both stars play the song’s characters perfectly, each perfectly matching their TV characters of Rayna and Luke on the TV drama. The song also appears on the new album, Christmas with Nashville.
And for the record? I’m team Deacon. He and Rayna need to get back together.
Give a listen to Connie Britton and Will Chase of Nashville with “Baby It’s Cold Outside”:
That’s a wrap for this week – have a great Monday!
Now on to the particulars of Monday’s Music Move’s Me:
