The Brevity Challenge: Take Your Time

Winter has arrived all over – while it’s cold here, the sun has been shining, unlike some of my friends out East who ended up getting their first taste of snow over the weekend.

Princess Nagger wants to know if you can send the snow our way – you know, if you really don’t want it and all.

This week’s theme was chosen by our last Spotlight Dancer, Joyce from Catch My Words, who has challenged us to a .

  1. Write ONE sentence or less on your post (sorry, can’t do an entire post with just one sentence, but the description of the song chosen is one sentence vs. a few paragraphs).
  2. Post ONE song that is under three minutes (close…went 36 seconds over, but it’s totally worth it).
  3. Visit and post a SHORT comment on EVERY blog that follows the rules (see ya at your place!).

The idea is to give people time to visit ALL blogs in the hop.Usually I’m wordy and all, but I’m game! Just disregard the whole beginning of this post, since I had to let you know what was going on, right?

So, let’s begin……now!

My choice for this week is , an artist who is making waves on the scene with his unique style of influenced by R&B soul.

This new tune will hit country airwaves one week from today – here’s Sam Hunt with ”:

That’s a wrap for this week! Enjoy your Monday!

Now on to the particulars of Monday’s Music Move’s Me:

I have the supreme honor and privilege of being a co-host with the inimitable Xmas Dolly and our musical cohorts, Callie from JAmericanSpice, Cathy from Cathy Kennedy’s Blog, and Becca of Everyday Life.

Want to join in the fun? It’s easy – just find a tune that rocks your boat, post it and link up – don’t forget to grab Xmas Dolly…er, um, I mean her button…over at her place here. Check out Xmas Dolly’s sidebar for the random themes we sport each week – and you can always ask for a specific theme of music you like, too. Check out the other music lovahs and let’s jam!

About StacyUncorked

After 20+ years in the Corporate World and years of infertility, Stacy was surprised when Princess Nagger made her miraculous appearance - deciding to forgo the career and stay home was a no-brainer. As if her hands weren't full enough, 8 years later she and her husband added Little Dude through adoption, adding a whole new dimension (of crazy) to their family and even more sleepless nights. When she’s not refereeing kids, dogs and cats, she loves to write, hence the reason she decided to start her little blog, and because she never got a baby book to mark milestones, this was the next best thing. She also enjoys doing reviews and giveaways for products she or her family would willingly use and can stand behind. She loves to cook and try new techniques to turn ordinary into extraordinary. Crafty by nature, she takes on a lot of unique projects and enjoy seeing the end result. Her favorite, of course, is making her award winning wine out of fruits and grapes. Experiments with water currently underway.

  1. A new-to-me tune. Nice guitar playing. I enjoyed the vocals/lyrics when he wasn’t talking them out, as that reminds me too much of RAP. Tell PN we are supposed to get snow this afternoon, but I’m not sure if we’ll get enough to send to her, though. This is the coldest November I remember in quite some time. So much for global warming!

    • Glad you enjoyed parts of it, Cathy! 😉 While it does seem rap-ish, at least it’s not as annoying as rap… 😉 It is colder than usual, isn’t it? Even out here in the Pacific Northwest! It’s been sunny, though, so no hope of snow for PN here, much to her disappointment. I see no global warming complaints yet this year! LOL! 🙂

  2. Nice new one Stacy. Brevity challenge is hard for those of us that like to write. *wink*
Tell Princess N. that she can have all the snow she wants as long as she comes and scoops it up. 🙂

    • Truer words were never spoken, Naila! 😉 It’s hard enough to try to keep the regular posts down to a minimum…but one sentence? Impossible, I tellya! 😉 Glad you liked the song – and I’ll let Princess Nagger know she can have all the snow she wants, as long as she comes to scoop it up! 😀

  3. Yep, this guy must be really new not to many people have heard of him nor his song. Very mellow and delightful listening. YOU ROCK GIRLFRIEND! 🙂 ME? RIGHT ONE SENTENCE? ARE YOU KIDDIN’ ME? BWAHAHAHAHA HUGS

    • He is pretty new – and I was psyched when I found a song that hasn’t played on commercial radio yet…I think I did year it on XM Satellite radio, though – can’t wait to hear more from him! 🙂 I know, right? ONE sentence? Impossible!! LOL!! Thanks so much for stopping by, and for being the best conductor in the world! 😀

    • Thank you, Joyce! And hopefully it wasn’t too annoying for you, being that even though he’s country, he does his music a tad bit different (much to the chagrin of die-hard country fans…they keep bitching about how country music isn’t country anymore… 😉 ) Thanks so much for stopping by! 🙂

  4. I always love getting a tip on a new artist. This song shows you the way country music is pushing the preconception of what we expect from the genre, too. Well played.

  5. It’s weird to see only one song on your blog 🙂
    A nice video too.

    Thanks for rocking.

I’m actually hoping we’ll get some snow this year, just for my mother.
