Welcome to Monday, where Monday’s don’t have to be mundane, because we’ve got a whole lotta fun for you to enjoy!  How’s that for positive thinking?

My favorite season has arrived – I’ve always been a sucker for fall weather and changing leaves. Hopefully those of you who seem to be having a colder-than-normal fall won’t hate me too much for enjoying the crisp cool days and watching for the leaves to transform into their vibrant colors.

Let’s heat things up figuratively, shall we?  This week’s theme from our Spotlight Dancer, Amethyst Moon of Life Music Laughteris theme songs that stick in our head.

Let’s start off with the original CSI, a show that’s been around much longer than any of its spin-off’s and is still going strong, now with Ted Danson at the helm. It’s definitely a theme song that gets stuck in my head every time I watch.

CSI-Season15

The theme song is by The Who, “Who Are You?” (note: some images are not appropriate for little eyeballs – or the faint of heart):

Speaking of Ted Danson… Next up is a sentimental theme that we all know and love (and unconsciously hum at bars). It was composed by Gary Portnoy and Judy Hart Angelo in 1982. Sheesh! Seems like forever ago!

Cheers

The original version they pitched, however, was much more of a downer, with lyrics that detailed all the sorrows one might drown at Cheers. Glen and Les Charles (the creators of Cheers) requested a revision, and the song eventually became as memorable as the show itself.

Cheers to you, “Where Everybody Knows Your Name”:

Next up is a newer show that I love, and this year will be it’s last and final season as we prepare to say ‘good bye’ to the wine-loving gang. So sad to see them go!

CougarTown

“Cougar Town” is a story about friendship and the peculiarities of life. It focuses on Courteny Cox’s (Monica from Friends, yo!) character and how she deals with her divorce, a son, ex-husband, society, success, failures and friendships.

Michael Wright, president of programming at TBS said, “Cougar Town has everything we hoped it would be: a smart, big-hearted, laugh-out-loud comedy that shines light on the TBS brand.”

I’m definitely going to miss this gang – their wine addiction, the laughter, the tears, and the friendship.

Without further ado, here’s the theme from Cougar Town, “In The Moment”:

Last, but certainly not least, a song that will never be forgotten, the show that many new sitcoms try to emulate, FRIENDS. I wonder how many people will be sharing this one today?

Friends

I love this video, because it’s the official music video (remember those days, when MTV actually had music videos?) that The Rembrandts made incorporating the cast from FRIENDS – it’s hilarious.

Without further ado, here’s The Rembrandts and the cast of FRIENDS with “I’ll Be There For You”:

Livin’ in the moment, I’ll be there for you, my most amazing virtual friends!  Enjoy your Monday!

  1. These certainly are catchy tunes. I’m in better spirits this Monday night because fall break has arrived. However, with the rough year I’ve had, I sure could use some Princess Nagger wine. I’ve been checking my mail box and anxiously waiting.

  2. I loved CSI for about the first 5 seasons, then lost interest in it – I had no idea Ted Danson was in it now. Doesn’t he look good? (Of course, I’m kinda partial to old guys 😉 ).

I loved Cheers when it was on, too. In fact, I loved the whole Tuesday night lineup it was part of – do you remember? The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers and Night Court. They don’t make television like that any more.

  5. Love how all the CSI shows used music by The Who – and all of them are catchy.
Cheers and Friends were two of the very best TV Show theme songs. I still enjoy hearing them.
The other one that sticks for me is The Walking Dead theme…. sometimes you don’t need words for it to stick in your brain.
