It has come to my attention that anyone trying to leave a comment on my blog simply cannot do so. The latest WordPress 4.0 update is the culprit. Usually I wait awhile until I see that they’ve worked out all the bugs before I upgrade, but apparently I somehow opted in for automatic updates and it updated without my say so.

And now it’s all mucked up since I’m trying to fix it and seem to be going ’round in circles.

I’m getting dizzy.

But then again, I’m a blonde, so being dizzy kind of goes with the territory, doesn’t it? Good thing I have enough hair for two or three heads, otherwise I’d soon be bald from pulling it out in frustration.

Please bear with me as I try to get this all sorted out – there will be no Random Tuesday Thoughts Rebel today for obvious reasons.

Wish me luck! Oh wait, you cant. Yet.

  1. Oh dear! I updated as well but haven’t heard of any issues. So sorry! This explains why I couldn’t comment yesterday.

    Dep breaths and good luck.

    1. Thank you, Kisma! Turns out my paid-for theme was the culprit – the coding had an issue and they did figure out a ‘fix’, but for whatever reason it didn’t work for me, even upgrading to the version that was required. I refuse to pay another $77 to upgrade to their latest version after paying $80 in 2010, and the newest version is not as user friendly as their original. So phooey on them. Now I’ve switched to a totally different theme that’s actually supported by WordPress – let me know if you encounter any errors or funky stuff when visiting, m’kay? 🙂 Thanks for hanging in there with me! 🙂

    1. Thank you, Marie! I think I finally got it all fixed – well, I switched to a completely different theme and went cross-eyed trying to figure out the confusing coding to set it up so it’s not too drastically different than the old theme, but hopefully even better! 🙂 Thanks so much for hanging in there with me – and a HUGE thanks for giving me a heads up there was a problem to begin with!! I probably wouldn’t have had it fixed and running again right now if it wasn’t for you! MWAH!! 🙂

  2. Looks like you got it fixed, Stacy. Now, I need to re-visit Monday’s post to leave my comment. lol I upgraded to the new WP version. *knock on wood* Thus far no problems here. Maybe it has something to do with your comments widget and not WP. Just a thought. Have a good day!

    1. I am now back in business, Cathy! Thank you for hanging in there with me – what a nightmare 3 days it’s been! But I think I’ve finally gotten the new theme set up to be very similar to the way the old one was…only better! And it works! No more redirect to an error page! Woot! 🙂 And now I have a lot of catching up to do…heh!! 🙂 Have a great day! 🙂

  3. Sorry to hear the trouble you have had glad you sorted, I noticed you used to use Thesis, I used that also for a long time but since the Thesis big update at the end of 2012 I just couldn’t get used to it so had to switch.

At least you got it sorted good luck with your new theme 🙂

    1. Thanks Steve – yeppers, I used to use Thesis…paid the $80 back in 2010 for this new amazing user friendly theme…only they’ve changed it many times since, and most recently are asking for an additional $77 (which is apparently a ‘discount’ for already being a customer) to acquire the newest version with more support. Um, no thanks. It got way too confusing with the subsequent updates, and this latest WordPress upgrade that made it incompatible was the last straw. I decided to pick up my marbles and call it a day! 🙂 I’m very happy with this new theme that’s totally supported by WordPress and vice versa. 🙂 We’ll see how it goes long term, but so far, so good! 😀
