JORD-disclosure

Recently I mentioned that I’m a shoeaholic. I also have this thing for watches. Once upon a time, particularly in the late 80’s early 90’s, I would buy a plethora of cheap watches specifically based on the colors of the watch face or band in order to color coordinate my wardrobe appropriately.

Yes, I’m a dork. That’s where Princess Nagger gets it from.

A few years ago my favorite aunt and I were chatting about watches, and seem to have a good-natured competition on who has the better watch collection. Now that I’m back in the great Pacific Northwest, we’ll have to have a watch showdown. I’ll be sure to let you know who comes out the winner.

Of course now that I have the most amazing watch made out of wood (yes, it’s made out of wood, yo!) I’m undoubtedly going to win that round. Check this out:

JORDWatch

Isn’t that cool looking?  When I was first contacted by JORD Watches to see if I would be interested in reviewing their most amazing watches, I have to admit I was a bit skeptical.

Watches made out of wood conjured up some thoughts of primitive watches made out of sticks. I’m pretty sure my jaw hit the floor when I scoped out their website and saw the variety of cool watches available:

JORDWatches2

JORD watches are made from different woods from all over the world including bamboo, maple, sandalwood, blackwood, cherry, and teak. The glass is made from scratch-proof blue film glass. The best part is that each one is hand-crafted from natural materials making each one truly  unique.

I prefer a two-tone look, so I selected this beauty:

And yes, since the trend happens to be big watches, I picked a man’s watch for fun. Plus Father’s Day is coming up, so this might give you guys some ideas on a great gift for that special dad in your life. Or you know, as a special gift for yourself for putting up with that great dad in your life.

Their Story:

It’s about time someone delivered an unconventional answer to age-old wrist candy. JORD watches are designed to take people back to nature and away from today’s metal & rubber. We want to challenge the norm by making unique time pieces as a focal point for everyday fashion.

So what does your watch say about you?

This simple question sparked an all-night, red-bull fueled session that ended in the purchase of World Woods in Color. True story…

What if we could create watches made from diverse woods from all over the world? What if we could combine various grains and their natural colors to create a line of watches that ensures every watch is truly unique?

That was the night JORD was born…

Since that time, we have become obsessed with using natural materials to offer a unique fashion flare. Our wood watches are one of a kind, premium quality time pieces, hand-crafted with sustainable materials from all over the world.

JORD, Telling more than time…

Something to note – while they’re splash proof, they are not water resistant, so don’t be planning any scuba diving trips or go swimming wearing one of these watches. They’re easy to clean, too – simply mix two tablespoons of olive oil and lemon juice, apply the mixture to a cotton cloth and then to the watch. Voila! Clean!

How would you like one of these amazing watches for yourself or as a gift for that special someone?

  1. Hi Stacy, Thanks for the Givesway Iwanted something special for my dad this year for the Fathers day. I will try my luck if not I am still buying the Jord for my dad. Hope I win

  2. How freaking cool is this?! Seriously!! I want all of the watches!! Especially the ones made out of red woods. But, if I won this one, I would give it to my Dad. He’s the master of wood shop. He made everything when I was a kid from scratch, from my bedroom furniture to my swing set. He still does it, but now he is getting older and prefers to “piddle.”

  3. Oh my goodness! My son-in-law recently purchased a Jord for himself (he’s a watch fanatic!) & I am certain he will be buyomg more as he was really showing his off… very uncharacteristic of him. ANYHOW… so thrilled at the Giveaway… the hard part was deciding “the one” as a surprise for my hubs. DELMAR white was my final fantasy watch… Thank you! (fingers, toes & even my eyes are crossed! :0>)
