We’re just a week out from Mother’s Day, people! Mother’s Day can be a tricky event around here, what with being married to Literal Man and all. He’s of the mindset that since I’m not his  mother, he shouldn’t have to do anything, that it’s the ‘responsibility’ of the kids (11 and 6) to do something and/or make that day special.

While he does  (technically) have a point, I did write a post on this very subject four years ago – and each subsequent year we’ve had the same similar discussion about celebrating Mother’s Day. He’s been doing much better each year, though he’s still a work in progress.

This year the budget is a little on the tight side, since we’re still awaiting the sale of our house in Pennsylvania – which means we currently own two houses, and even though we are only carrying one mortgage (luckily we paid off our PA house a couple years ago), we’re still subject to paying utilities on both houses, which is not only not  cheap, but truly annoying. The hubby did, however, ask me for a list of things I’d like – so I like to refer to them as my ‘wish list’.

I’ve also been trying to figure out what to get my mom for Mother’s Day – which is not an easy task considering she’s at the age where she already has  everything she needs, and is trying to keep down on the clutter. Which means I probably shouldn’t  get her another music box for her collection, since her music box cabinet is bursting with gifts from years past. I better start shopping with a vengeance so I find something in time!

What’s on my wish list, you ask?  First on the list is KitchenAid mixer (red, of course), since I ended up giving my previous one to some friends when we moved:

Also on the list is a new wine fridge – yes, you guessed it, my wine fridge also had to be sacrificed for the move, so I’ve been checking out alternate replacements like this one (even though it holds less bottles than my old one, it’s definitely a start):

I’ve been wanting to get a treadmill forever,  but since the movers destroyed our stove during the move and we had to buy a new one, the money I’d saved for a treadmill went towards the new stove instead. So I’ve decided to add it to my Mother’s Day / Anniversary / Birthday / Christmas Wish List:

And of course you can never go wrong with jewelry, right?

There are so many  cool (and affordable) items to choose from, like this black and white diamond heart necklace:

Luckily eBay’s Mobile App helps you get inspired and find gifts for that special Mom in your life. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been an avid eBay user since 1998 – when you think about it, that’s a long time! With mobile apps for virtually everything, I really appreciate the eBay Mobile app for sure it’s a great way for me to find unique and personal gifts for my loved ones, and the recent updates to the app make it easier than ever to use.
