For the past month, Princess Nagger has been enthusiastically testing out the Motorola Photon Q on Scratch Wireless, a new wireless company that offers free text, data, and voice services when connected to WiFi.

Texting is free always, WiFi or not.

Since we connect all our devices here at home via a WiFi, that means Princess Nagger’s usage has been all free all the time.  Not to mention practically everywhere we go you can generally access WiFi, so still  free.

Princess Nagger loves the phone (as do I):

The Motorola Photon Q Android has proven to be a great phone.  Princess Nagger loves the full, slide-out keyboard (I love that part, too – my texting is very laborious with one finger, one letter at a time, I’d love to have a slide-out keyboard to go much faster, plus I love that it’s not just a slide-out, it’s back-lit, too!)

Princess Nagger had fun personalizing the phone to her liking, and downloading all her favorite apps and games.  Lucky for me, she’s not a big texter yet (except to send me random and funny texts), since she prefers to watch her favorite funny videos on YouTube, or play her favorite games.  I love that she doesn’t have to swipe my phone anymore to play games, and that she still has the option of utilizing the phone as a phone when circumstances require it.

Scratch Wireless is definitely an affordable option – seriously, people, free all the time when connected to WiFi, and if you want to make sure you are connected when no WiFi is present, you can opt to purchase a ‘pass’ for just $14.99 a month, or even better, $1.99 for a day pass to make sure you’re connected if you are venturing off to WiFi absent locations.

I’m working on the hubby to switch our phones over – we already ditched the contract phones for pre-paid ones since our usage was/is so minimal, the exorbitant expense made no sense for us, so this is right up our ally, and I’m very impressed with the phone in general.

Not only is the phone user friendly, but it has an amazing camera and gives my Android LG a run for its money.  While you aren’t able to use your existing phone (yet) with the Scratch Wireless service, you are able to keep your current phone number, so that’s half the battle right there.

Want to WIN a Motorola Photon Q?

Each month, Scratch Wireless gives away a Motorola Photon Q Android device through its “Fan of the Month” contest.  To enter, all you have to do is comment with what your monthly wireless bill costs on the contest hosted on the Scratch Wireless Facebook page.  I’m definitely going to be entering, because it really is an awesome phone and awesome service!

What kind of cell service do you have?  Do you like your phone?

  1. Nice! We’re not ready to get our nine-year-old daughter her own phone just yet, but it’s nice to know there are affordable options.
