A huge thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday – you all made my day extra special.  No, forget it – if you forgot, it’s your loss, don’t try to backpedal and do the whole birthday wish today, because that ship has sailed.  You snooze, you lose.

Just kidding – wish away.  I figure it’s my birthday week,  so have at it!   And presents.  You could send presents if you feel like it.  Still kidding!  Or am I?

I had a great birthday, very low key.  Since it’s a 3-day term-break for the professor hubby, he didn’t have to go in at the ass-crack of dawn yesterday which meant I got to sleep in until 6:30am.

I’m sure there’s probably something morally wrong with saying that getting up at 6:30am is sleeping in.   Just sayin’.

The hubby was also able to meet me at our favorite Teriyaki place and bought me a birthday lunch, so that was cool.  Since he had upgraded my engagement band with a new bling ring a few months ago, I wasn’t expecting any birthday presents, because this pretty much took care of the rest of the year and into next:

RingUpdate

Though I was still hoping  I’d get a little something to acknowledge my special day.  I was regretting making the offer of “This will take care of Birthday and Christmas and maybe even our next Anniversary!”  that I unwittingly blurted out when asking for the upgrade.

You know, because there was a sale going on and because my old engagement setting was damaged and needed to be fixed (apparently wearing it while packing and moving must have been rough on it because the head of the setting was drastically bent, which means I could have lost my main diamond had I managed to break the head off of the setting).

I should know by now that Mr. Literal Man would agree literally and not sway from that decision of the ring setting covering the next three main events.  But he surprised me by telling me he wanted to get me some additional bling for my birthday with input from the kids, so we did the whole family affair after dinner.  It’s too late to take pics and show you, you’ll just have to wait until next week.  Sorry to be a tease.

Two weeks from today is Christmas Eve.  My Santa duties are a little discombobulated this year – but hopefully tomorrow I’ll have a chance to head over to the storage unit to forage through the pile’o’gifts I’ve gotten so far to figure out who I forgot and what I forgot.  And get busy wrapping.

I think I’ll save the Santa gift wrapping for last, because then I’ll probably just stash them in the back of my car until Christmas Eve – I probably should let my parents know there might be a middle-of-the-night run happening as I transfer gifts from the car to the house.  Hopefully the dogs won’t bark like I’m a thief in the night.

Moving on… I saw this on Two Funny Brains Facebook page yesterday and it cracked me up big time:

Santa

Now I think the originator, Kim from Let Me Start By Saying should post a video of her singing it. Who’s with me?

I really want to know when this  happened:

PNgrowingPNgrowing2

When did she get all teeny-bopper looking?  She may only be 11, but she’s pretty much skipped the tween mode and gone straight for the teenitude mode.  Emphasis on the ‘tude.  I keep telling her she’s not too old to end up on Santa’s Naughty List.  We should have a special ‘Teenitude Naughty List” to keep all tween’s and teens in check during the holiday season.  Wonder how much longer that ‘threat’ will work?

If you’ve been reading me for a while, you know my favorite animal happens to be deer – so this time of year is extra cool with all the extra deer stuff Christmas-y and otherwise.  I saw these on Facebook a few weeks ago or so, and forgot about them.  I never thought about flipping gingerbread men upside down to turn them into deer (and yes, I do know that last sentence could be misconstrued, but I’m going with it):

GingerbreadManReindeer

Aren’t those great?  Of course you have to have just the right gingerbread man cookie cutter for it to work – I saw some ‘running man’ type cookie cutters instead of the traditional version which totally wouldn’t work.  Though I bet I could make some freaky deer out of them.  I might have to do that just to see how wicked they’d look – or wicked cool.  And yes, I’ve reverted back to the nineties, why do you ask?

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome – random or not. Be sure to visit your fellow randomizers so they don’t feel so lonely.

I’m also linking up with two stellar ladies, Shawn and Impulsive, the lovely hosts of Talk To Us Tuesday. Though they’ve been AWOL for a few months – we might need to storm their castle and find out if they fell in their moat or something.

More Tuesday hops – if you’re stopping by here from there, please do me a favor and follow via LinkyFollowers – since I was robbed of my GFC followers when the cads at Google decided to boycott non-Blogger blogs. The Tuesday hops seems to have diminished – if you have one let me know and I’ll add you here, too!
