As usual, time keeps flying by and here comes Halloween in just a mere 4 days!  Don’t blink, or it’ll be Christmas already, and I’m just not ready!  I am (mostly) ready, however, for Halloween.

Little Dude has been excited about getting dressed up as a Firefighter, since that’s what he currently says he wants to be when he grows up.  Princess Nagger wants to dress up as Katniss Everdeen, simply because she’s cool.

Finding shoes to coordinate with their costumes was a daunting task – more so for Little Dude since I really wanted to find light-up shoes to make sure all his hyperactive running around can have that safety feature while trick-or-treating.

Lo and behold, Stride Rite has an impressive Halloween collection with shoes that incorporate today’s latest light up technology so they are visible at night!

Aren’t those awesome?!  And so perfect for Little Dude!  He loved them as soon as he saw them – as I was getting the tissue out of the toes so he could put them on, he kept exclaiming over and over again “They so cool! They so cool! Look Mommy! They so cool!”  Now he refers to them as his ‘firefighter shoes’ and can’t wait to wear them again on Halloween with his firefighter costume:

I wonder if I should be worried about that toy axe?  At least I don’t have to be worried about his feet being stylin’ and comfy:

I also love how bright the light-up part is – there are lights on the front velcro strap, as well as on the side.  Now when he and Princess Nagger are running ahead as us adults straggle behind, we can pinpoint where the two of them are:

Stride Rite has tons of cute styles and designs from the perfect Disney Princess match, to Star Wars, Marvel and even Sesame Street Designs. All these and more are available in your favorite brands including: Stride Rite, Sperry Top-Sider, Keds, Saucony and Jessica Simpson.

Since Princess Nagger is apparently past the princess-y stage and moving on to more complicated costuming, the themed light-up shoes were not the right choice for her.  Luckily she chose a character that finding the perfect shoe by way of Stride Rite was a piece of cake, especially since they have the Jessica Simpson brand:

Aren’t those boots great?  Now I know they’re not exactly like the Katniss boots, but they’ll work – plus Princess Nagger needed a good pair of boots to wear to school, too.  Double duty!  Forgive the hair failure – I literally threw the wig on PN’s head and did a quick braid – for the actual Halloween event, I’ll be doing the style right.  And painting her bow silver:

But at least you get the idea – I think she did a great job picking out the boots!

Be sure to check out Stride Rite for all the latest fall styles for Halloween and beyond.  Have a safe Halloween whatever you may be doing – and if you’re out trick-or-treating with the little ones, remember to make sure they are visible to motorists, their candy checked before eaten, and that they are trick-or-treating with a responsible adult.  Which at least one of us is, so we’re covered on that one.

Do you take the little ones out to trick-or-treat?  What are they dressing up as this year?

  1. Oh my goodness! Lil’ Dude is getting big & look at that handsome smile! Man, those shoes really look sturdy & looks lot they would last long enough until they grow out of them. With three grandsons in that age range… thanks for the info. So very nice & great costume. Why PN look unhappy or maybe she looks like she just woke up! My granddaughter Bria is going to be an Archerer this year too! How cool is that? Still waiting on the Dorothy outfit to arrive for my other granddaughter Tatyanna. Then I get that, “I’ll have to buy her one if it doesn’t come in routine”. Oh boy, all the joys of being a Mom/Nanee! hugs…
