A pause button would be awfully nice right about now.  Well, just for the time speeding by, that is – not for selling our PA house and moving into the one we’ve made an offer on.  For that I’ll happily utilize a fast-forward button.

But at least one part of the ‘hurry-up-and-wait’ portion of our program is no longer valid – the hubby got the job he interviewed for that he was hoping to get!  So in case you heard some loud cheering coming from my general direction last week, that’s what that  was all about.

Living in my parents’ basement isn’t too  terrible – aside from all four of us being stuck in the same space together, you get no privacy (and multitudes of interruptions).  Luckily there is one small bedroom-type room that has a bed in it – of course Princess Nagger and I claimed that room, since girls need more privacy than boys do.  The poor hubby is relegated to an air mattress in the main part of the basement, next to the couch where Little Dude sleeps – or in Little Dude’s case, doesn’t  sleep.

It’s really hard to concentrate with all the noise and distractions – dogs, kids, husband – but it’s only temporary.  Thank god.  Heh.

We’ve made a few trips to our storage unit to visit our stuff – just kidding, we’ve gone there to fetch things, like bottles of wine and winter coats.  You know, the important stuff.  It gets tricky to try to dig stuff out, especially since we have it stacked pretty darn full:

StorageWars

We’re renting a 10′ x 20′ storage unit – it’s also 15′ high at the highest point (in the front) and 10′ high at the lowest point in the back (due to the peaked roof).  I had to re-stack some of the stuff the movers stacked in there to make room for all the stuff on our U-Boxes – but after it was all said and done, we managed to fit all that remains of our earthly possessions in one storage unit:

There isn’t much by way of furniture in there since we didn’t keep much of that – I’m looking forward to going furniture shopping after we get our house.  That way I can pick out pieces that will coordinate nicely in our new digs when the time comes.  The only thing I’m not looking forward to is moving all that from the storage unit to the house, but at least the move will finally be completely done.  This limbo business is for the birds.

What’s not for the birds is the awesome sight of Mt. Rainier when it’s clear out, like I shared last for last week’s Wordless/Wordful Wednesday.  In case you missed it, here’s one of the shots taken from the passenger window of the hubby’s car:

Such a pretty sight, isn’t it?  Another pretty sight is the new engagement ring setting the hubby sprung for this weekend after getting his new job and not having to worry about draining our savings in the interim – we took my ring in to get cleaned and inspected and noticed that the mounting for the diamond had gotten bent (apparently wearing my ring while moving boxes and tons of stuff wasn’t such a wise idea).

Since Kay’s was having a sale, we decided to replace the ring setting with one that has diamonds in it, and just transfer my main diamond to that new setting:

Isn’t that pretty?  I couldn’t get a good picture of it one-handed, but you get the idea.  It compliments my wedding band perfectly – the hubby said for a future anniversary he’ll have to get me a matching band for the opposite side.  Sure, I’ll be amenable to that.  He’s definitely a keeper.

I might actually have a chance to visit y’all this week now that the hubby will be out of my hair, and both kids are in school the second half of the week (Little Dude is only in school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in part-time Kindergarten – it’s going to be blissfully peaceful on those days when I’m not shopping with my mom).  Of course there’s still the intermittent internet connection to deal with, but maybe I’ll get lucky.

That’s a wrap for this week – you know the drill, link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome – random or not. Be sure to visit your fellow randomizers so they don’t feel so lonely.
