4th Grade Beginning and End

It’s that time of year – Princess Nagger wrapped up her final two hours of the school year this past Monday.  So we take a look back to see how much she’s grown in just one school year.  And again, I really need to stop blinking.

Seriously, time is flying by way too fast.  She was very happy at the prospect of her Summer Break beginning:

While we were waiting for her final bus pick up, she decided she wanted to draw a quick sketch for one of her best friends:

Her friend loved the sketch, of course.  While Princess Nagger is sad to be moving away from her friends this summer, she’s very excited for her new school in a new state and a new adventure.  And she’s looking forward to giving Skype quite the workout talking to her friends any chance she gets.

Let the summer fun begin!

  1. That will be hard to change schools. I’m sure she’ll enjoy the adventure though.

How’s Little Dude? Does he start Kindergarten in the fall?

    • Luckily she would have gone to a different school here next year anyway (the school district has 4 different schools – K-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-12) so I think the fact that she’ll just be going to a different school 3000 miles away instead of locally helps the whole ‘new school’ idea. 😉 Yes – Little Dude starts Kindergarten in the fall – another reason we wanted to be sure to move this year (instead of last year or next year) because the ‘in between’ mode is perfect for the kids and their school years. 🙂 They’re both registered at their new school for the fall out West, and both very excited about all of it! 😀

  2. Wow, it’s amazing how much older she looks in less than a year! Time does go by fast. That’s good she’s more excited than sad to be moving. Makes it easier on mom, too.

    • It is amazing how much older she looks in less than a year – kinda scary! 😀 Definitely makes it easier on me that she’s more excited than sad to be moving. I’m glad she’s looking at the move as an exciting adventure! 🙂

  3. I can really see how she has grown and matured over the year. Please give her my congratulations on surviving 4th grade. Ha! I hope her new school is better than the last and filled with wonderful kids.

  4. She has really grown this year…. it does move fast. Soon she will be 16 (ugh). No end of school year fan fare here.. We’ve had it rough the past two months, we have tutors coming now to try and finish out the school year here at home!
Such an exciting adventure! Tara wants to move again, start something new. She is a restless soul! I for now want to stay in place!
    Have a great day!

    • She sure has grown this year – and ACK! At the thought of her being 16 soon. Luckily I have 5-1/2 years to wait for that nonsense. 😉 Although with how fast time is flying by, it’ll seem like tomorrow! 😀 So sorry you’ve had it rough the last two months – hopefully Tara (and you) will have an awesome summer! 🙂

  5. Beautiful girl you got there. My “going-into-3rd-grade” girl came off the bus in tears I felt so horrible. We are moving this summer too and it was all quite sudden. Hope your daughter makes lots of new friends. Happy WW

    • Thank you so much, Eliza! Awwww! So sorry your ‘going-into-3rd-grade’ girl came home in tears. Hopefully she’ll embrace her new surroundings and make cool new awesome friends quickly! ((HUGZ!!))

  7. Aww these are lovely. I love that you took photos in the same places at the beginning and end of the year. Time really does fly by, enjoy it! Thanks for sharing.

  8. It’s amazing how fast our little ones grow, she looks lovely. This will be a new experience for sure…
    Happy WW

  9. The changes that happen ever so slowly – and suddenly quickly – right before our eyes. I was just pondering how I think our daughter has gotten taller in the last month. More pictures! 😉

  10. Wow – what a change!! My son starts Kindergarten in the fall and I’ll be doing first day/last day pics like this. THANKS! 🙂

    • Crazy how fast they grow, isn’t it? I’ve done the first day/last day pics since she started Kindergarten – I’ll have to do a post showing the progressiveness over the years. 🙂 My youngest starts Kindergarten in the fall, too – we’ll have to compare notes! 😉 Thanks so much for stopping by, Erin! 🙂

  11. Gosh Stacy, you don’t notice them growing up day by day, but the photos show just how much your little princess is growing towards being a lovely young lady – you must be very proud of her! (PS: please tell her the sketch is SO sweet!)

    • Isn’t it crazy how we don’t notice the subtle growth day to day, but do a comparison months apart it’s staggering how fast they really do grow, isn’t it? Thank you for the compliments – I’ll pass them along to PN! 😉

  12. Yes, they do grow up fast, don’t they? Fortunately, some things (her smile, for instance) didn’t change a bit!

Happy WW, and have a good summer!

  13. So how did u figure this out again? hehehehe I keep forgetting. I need to write it down or something. hehehe Well, Lord have Mercy WHO WAS THE WISE GUY THAT BLINKED??? COME NOW… FESS UP… WHO DID IT??? oh it must have been me! Dang Girl!!! Do you know what I tell my granddaughter when she comes over? (She’s taller than me. I’m 5’2″ & she’s about 5’5″), so she bends her legs and scoots down a tad when she’s by me. hehehehe

  14. I hate to tell you this, but she aged a lot over the fourth grade! I know you probably want her to stay your baby forever. I totally get it.

  15. I can so relate. My 4th grader had her last day today and i just saw pics from last year at this time and she’s grown so much. She’ll be ten in a few days… where does the time go?

  16. wow, time is indeed flying so fast. She looks beautiful 🙂
Found you from Sakuraharuka WW hop.

  17. Good luck with all of your upcoming adventures! I love seeing the changes the kids make over the course of the year!
