I happen to have a love/hate relationship with washing dishes.  That spawned from having a dishwasher that didn’t do its job more often than not, so I had to pre-wash everything by hand before loading the dishwasher, only to be disappointed by the lackluster effort my dishwasher would have, thwarting all my previous efforts.

Then I was blessed with a brand spankin’ new dishwasher that has been a dream come true.

I have to say, though, that a brand spankin’ new dishwasher is only as good as the detergent you use.  Sure, it works way better miracles than my old dishwasher did, but if I use certain kinds of dish detergent, I’m not giving my new dishwasher the ability to thoroughly clean my dishes like it really wants to do.

The instructions with my new dishwasher said to never rinse the dishes – only scrape them really well, to enable the sensors to do their job to really get them clean (if you rinse some but not others, the sensors might pick up on the rinsed ones and not get the non-rinsed ones as clean).  It’s been a challenge to remind my hubby of the ‘no rinsing’ rule.

I only run the dishwasher every few days (even though I don’t have to wait, it’s sort of been a habit from my old dishwasher days, waiting until it’s completely chock-full before running a load).  So now that we don’t rinse, the residual food left on there tends to want to stick around and not get washed away.

That’s why I’m excited to announce my participation in Cascade’s “My Platinum” Ambassador Program.  I have noticed that the Cascade Pacs I use do a much better job than alternatives, but I’m betting that the Platinum ones are going to blow those out of the dish water.

Cascade Platinum Pacs achieve a top-tier clean so powerful that they even help keep your dishwasher machine sparkling and deliver a variety of dish care benefits.  They power away tough, 24 hour stuck-on food, which is definitely a benefit I need to take advantage of.

I love that it helps maintain the look of new machines and helps prevent additional hard-water build-up, which makes me very  happy, since I want to make sure my new dishwasher gets treated like the star it is.

I’ll be telling you more about Cascade Platinum in the coming weeks along with a fun “My Platinum” Instagram contest you don’t want to miss (you’ll be able to enter to win some great prizes) and I’ll be sharing more about Cascade’s partnership with one of the Top Chef  Judges, Gail Simmons.  Stay tuned!

Meanwhile, you can connect with Cascade by way of their website or on Facebook.

Do you have a love/hate relationship with doing your dishes?  Do you have a favorite dish detergent you can’t live without?
