I’m so glad Monday is done and over.  It was already ‘a day’ before I even had my first cup of coffee – first I dumped an entire can of open soda all over the inside and outside of the fridge, which then culminated in a huge puddle in front of the fridge.

The huge puddle on the floor on front of the fridge wouldn’t normally be a big deal, except that since our house is almost 200 years old, the floors tend to slope towards the center – which means the huge puddle was traveling to a resting place underneath  the fridge.  Icky sticky mess.

As if that  wasn’t enough, the milk I got out to pour on Princess Nagger’s breakfast cereal (that was the culprit that bumped into the open can of soda) that bowl of cereal and milk ended up getting spilled by Princess Nagger – all over herself, the couch, and the floor in front of the couch.  Which has the sloping floors in the opposite direction, so the milk traveled underneath the couch.  Another icky sticky mess.

Frantic clean-up in both rooms commenced, Princess Nagger had to go change her clothes, and ended up running out of time for a replacement breakfast before it was time to head out to wait for the bus.  Not a great way to start a Monday for sure.

My day was salvaged, however, by the gorgeous and talented actress/writer/producer Jennifer Fontaine who started following me on Twitter:

JenniferFontaine

Of course when somebody cool like that follows me, naturally I’m going to follow them back.  When I followed her, she actually sent me a tweet:

TweetFun

Seriously?  She loves my blog!  After the crappy morning I had, that totally made my day.  Totally.

Let’s talk about the weather, shall we?  I see Mother Nature is still up to her menopausal old self – the poor people in the midwest having to deal with a funky winter snow storm named Walda inundating them with scads of snow when signs of life of spring should be springing forth instead:

Walda

Hopefully the dudes of Mt. Rushmore are still wearing their winter skivvies.  I’m just sayin’.

Meanwhile, here in Punxsutawney country where gopher Phil resides, it appears that this week we’ve completely skipped ahead to summer instead of relishing in awesome spring weather.  80’s for the next few days?  My biggest fear has been that since we really didn’t have a ‘proper’ winter, we’d bypass spring and end up with 6-months of stifling summer heat and humidity.  I’m hoping this week is a fluke, and that Mother Nature will get back on her menopause meds so she can even things out.

Mama Kat posted this on Facebook last week and it totally cracked me up:

Rum

Hysterical.  And that would totally be me, since running and I have never ever gotten along.

Someone who does run, though, is my awesome bloggy friend Denise from RunDMT – I mentioned yesterday I found her doppelgänger (if you’re a How I Met Your Mother fan, you’ll understand that reference).  So if you missed it yesterday, here’s a picture of Denise she posted on Facebook by way of Instagram:

Denise

And here’s the awesome music artist Yael Meyer who is totally Denise’s doppelgänger:

YaelMeyer

Isn’t the resemblance uncanny?  I thought so.  When my friends and I did Glamour Shots years ago (where the stylist styled my hair with my natural curly waves), my mom thought I looked like Donna Mills (even though Donna Mills is older than my mom – go figure):

DonnaMills

I’ll have to dig through my piles’o’boxes and see if I can find that picture – then I can do the comparison justice.  I do hope that I age as gracefully as she has, looking hot at 70-something would be sweet:

DonnaMillsCompare

Edited to add:

I completely forgot that my favorite doppelgänger comparison people have made of me is that of Lisa Kudrow – especially if you compare a black-and-white shot of her and my own black-and-white head-shot from 10-ish years ago:

LisaKudrowDoppelganger

Plus she’s not as obscure (and actually my age, not a decade or more older like Donna), so I think I like that comparison much better.

Do you have a doppelgänger?

That’s a wrap for this week – link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. Be sure to visit your fellow randomizers so they don’t feel so lonely.

  1. You have had an interesting Monday for sure! I hate spilling things! And an you say, the spill always migrates into hard to reach places! Yuck!
    Have a better day
    Hugs

  2. I don’t have a famous doppleganger but SO many people meet me and say they know me from somewhere but we’ve never met before. I always look “like someone’s friend.”

I totally love when people follow me or mention me on Twitter. It makes your day for sure!

  3. In high school this guy would call me Sally because he said that I looked like Sally Field. I never saw a resemblance, myself.

Winter wants to hang around and get some sun!

  4. I love doppleganger stuff 🙂 I always say I look like people who I know look nothing like me 🙂 haha… like Drew barrymore or Rachel McAdams… my mom always said she looked like Doris Day when I was growing up. I finally got old enough to know who Doris Day was & then though my mom was on crack.

    1. Doppelganger stuff is fun, isn’t it Rebecca Jo? 🙂 You’re a cutie pie by your own right – and so is Drew Barrymore and Rachel McAdams. 😉 I burst out laughing over you thinking your mom was on crack when she compared herself to Doris Day. 😀 My grandmother always reminded me of Lucille Ball (she even dyed her hair red all the time). 😀

  5. I wish I had a doppleganger! I don’t. i just look like me. Although once I had a teacher tell me I looked like her cousin but she couldn’t really find a picture of her cousin for me to see.

And our weather here in SW MO is 70 today and 45 tomorrow. We’re also in Tornado awareness mode. One picture I saw you couldn’t even see anything that resembled the state of MO because it was completely covered in Red Tornado watch zone. 🙁

  6. I have no famous followers anywhere. *sigh* You totally rock, my friend.

I once dated a guy (remember the Canadian chemist I blogged about quite some time ago?) who told me I looked like Roseanne Cash. Better than Roseanne Barr, I suppose…

  7. We have two inches on the ground right now. It’s still snowing but the weather people threatened 8 inches last night. What we have out there now is not worth a name. And Walda? What kind of name is that?

No doppelganger that I know of or that’s ever been pointed out to me.

  8. It sure seems when it rains it pours, doesn’t it? I hate when unexpected little blunders – like spilling things – can throw a whole morning off course! At least you had the thrill of a celeb following you on Twitter!! AWESOME!! I remember the first time I had a comment on my blog from a minor local celeb (a radio DJ) – it totally made my day!!

As for doppelgangers – I don’t think I have one. When I used to take karate, one of the little girls told me I looked like Izzie from Grey’s Anatomy, but I think she was just trying to be nice. lol Katherine Heigl would have to eat a few cheeseburgers to catch up to me in girth, anyways! hahaha!!

    1. It’s so true that when it rains it pours, Jill! You’re right – having a celeb follow me on Twitter made it all better! 😉 LOL on Katherine Heigl having to eat a few cheeseburgers to catch up to you in girth – where Lisa Kudrow is tall and thin, I’m short and round so the similarities are only from the neck up for me…MWAHAHAHAHA!

  9. I wish I had a cool doppleganger like that! People sometimes say I look like Melissa Joan Hart from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. She’s kind of a goober, not nearly as cool as Lisa Kudrow!

We skipped spring too, sigh. It’s been really warm out, but insanely windy-like 50+ mph winds! It makes me want to hide out inside.

    1. Now see, I like Melissa Joan Hart – I think she’s a cutie! So you’re a cutie too, right? 😉

The weather is crazy hot so early in the season – I’m hoping it doesn’t last, I rather like spring the ‘normal’ way. 😉 Those are killer winds – stay safe!!

  10. Your Monday sounds like mine! I had to critique 35 portfolios. Some weren’t up to par. The boss man acted like it was my fault. Students! Then my preschool ate an eraser off his pencil and decided it would be fun to scratch our new table with the chewed up metal part.

That dropped soda sounds like I felt.

    1. 35 portfolio’s is a lot of critiquing to do! And Pfffft! to the boss man! 😉 OH NO on your preschooler eating the eraser off his pencil and scratching your new table with the chewed up metal part – the eraser itself didn’t get swallowed, did it? And hopefully the scratches can get buffed out? 🙂 You win on the horrid Monday for sure! 😀

  11. Your Monday was the crappiest ever! Good grief! But you got followed and tweeted by someone famous AND SHE LIKES YOUR BLOG?? That good stuff never happens to me. Dang the luck!

Bad weather is about to hit us tonight. Tornado season is a beast.

Thanks for linking up with Shawn. I haven’t opened my laptop since Wed. Commenting from my iPhone is NOT ideal but its what I can do for now! The boxes are thinning out!! Woo hoo!

  12. What a horrible Monday morning!! Sounds like a Monday.

So what happens if they go through the whole alphabet naming winter storms? Do they go back to A and start all over again?

I don’t think I have a Doppelganger. Nice comparisons for you and Denise! I can totally see it.

Thanks for keeping the random in Tuesdays!
