Let me start by saying that I loveΒ  Jennifer Lawrence.Β  Not just because she was in one of my favorite comedies, The Bill Engvall Show:

And not because she killedΒ  it as Katniss in The Hunger Games:

I love that she hasn’t let her fame and popularity go to her head – she has no qualms about making funny faces when she’s being interviewed:

And of course there’s the infamous trip when she stumbled on her way to receive her well-deserved Oscar for Best Actress:

Dressed as a beautiful princess she looked completely graceful and took it all in stride.Β

But what reallyΒ  clinched my love and admiration for her, was when she was presenting the flagship Advocate for Change award to President Bill Clinton with her boss, Harvey Weinstein, she made attempts to kiss up to her boss, referenced her fall en route to the Oscar podium, and flubbed Clinton’s name, starting to say “Ladies and gentleman, President Gil … “

She quickly corrected herself, and as the applause started for Clinton’s entrance, muttered over to Harvey Weinstein “Of all the things to mess up… his name!”Β  In essence, she totally won the show, and everybody’s hearts and admiration, too.

Even when she messes up, she can do no wrong in my book.

Speaking of stealing the show…Β  Did you hear what Neil Diamond did for Boston this weekend?Β  Of course you did!Β  But in case you didn’t, there’s a musical tradition when the eighth inning arrives at Fenway Park – the playing of a recording of Neil Diamond singing “Sweet Caroline.”

Apparently Neil Diamond called the Boston Red Sox just after noon and asked if he could lead the crowd in singing his song.Β  If you are wondering what it meant for Diamond to be there, he took an early, earlyΒ  morning flight from Los Angeles to get to the game, which started shortly after 1 p.m. EST.Β  They were thrilled to have him show up, of course:

Wasn’t that awesome?Β  Too bad they didn’t just let him sing the song instead of sort of singing along with the recording, but it was magical just the same.

Speaking of magical…Β  I’ve been asked by Auntie Anne’s to be a Brand Ambassador for them!Β

I’ll be heading out to Lancaster later this week to get a look behind the Scenes at Pretzel University, hobnobbing with nine other amazing bloggers and yes, eating the most delicious pretzels on the planet.Β

Not only will I be having the time of my life, but I’ll be in seventh heaven staying at the old Cork Factory which has been converted into an amazing hotel:

I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures and fill you in on all the fun details when I get back.

That’s a wrap for this week – link up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome, random or not. Be sure to visit your fellow randomizers so they don’t feel so lonely.

More Tuesday hops – if you’re stopping by here from there, please do me a favor and follow via LinkyFollowers – since I was robbed of my GFC followers when the cads at Goggle decided to boycott non-Blogger blogs. The Tuesday hops seems to have diminished – if you have one let me know and I’ll add you here, too!

    1. I didn’t realize that National Pretzel Day happens to be this Friday – how appropriate this gig is happening then (which was probably why they picked the date they did…heh!) They sure are awesome pretzels, aren’t they? I’m so honored for the opportunity. πŸ™‚

    1. It was very nice of Neil Diamond, wasn’t it? πŸ™‚ I figured of everyone I know, you’d be the jealous one of where I’ll be staying this weekend. πŸ˜‰ I’ll let you know how it is – might be a place you’ll want to stay next time you’re in this neck of the woods. πŸ˜€

    1. Jennifer is awesome in interviews, isn’t she? A pleasure to watch both in interviews and her stellar performances. She’ll definitely go far! I’m so excited about the opportunity – and getting to stay at that awesome and unique hotel. Of course my love for wine and winemaking play a large part of the excitement of staying in an old cork factory. πŸ˜‰

  2. Lol, you put that you’ll be in seventh ‘heaving’. Cute!

Neil Diamond is a class act, and so is Jennifer Lawrence. Contrast those two with the not so classy artists out there!

    1. LOL! Oh lordy! Thanks for the heads up – figures that ‘heaving’ is spelled correctly! πŸ™‚ Of course my OCD made me correct it. πŸ˜‰

I agree – both Neil Diamond and Jennifer Lawrence are class acts – a rare breed considering those who are polar opposite. πŸ˜‰

  3. I LOVE Jennifer Lawrence. She is so cute, and like you said, I love that she’s not full of herself. I also love that she seems so happy and honored to be a part of the whole spotlight thing, versus Kristen Stewart who has this huge chip on her shoulder! I love the gratitude.
Wow, that’s a gorgeous hotel. Have a great time!!

  4. LOVE Jennifer Lawrence! She seems so down-to-earth & funny. Can’t wait for the next Hunger Games movie to come out! She DEF killed it as Katniss! πŸ™‚

I love all the wonderful ways people are reaching out to and showing love to Boston – Neil Diamond included. I saw last week that they sang it at a Yankees game in honour of the city of Boston, and I thought that was pretty sweet. So glad that nightmare is over for them!!

  5. Holy Cow! Aren’t we all human? Don’t we all stumble or make a face yawning or in amazement, and what about when we sneeze? Isn’t that the human natural things that we do? So why does her picture go on the front page when she stumbled I’d like to know? That’s so stupid. Where are their mentalities?

  6. I really like Jennifer too. I watched that show years ago but didn’t know it was her, that’s cool. Didn’t know about her slip up with Bill Clinton either.
I loved her in the Hunger Games and loved her in Silver Linings Playbook. She so darn real….
Didn’t know about Neil Diamond…..how awesome was that!!!!

  7. I really like Jennifer Lawrence too! I can’t wait for the next Hunger Games movie! I was so happy to be able to watch the baseball game on Saturday. The Red Sox were playing Kansas City, so they aired it here. I totally teared up when Neil Diamond and the whole stadium were singing. I grew up in the Greater Boston area and so it hit really close to home.

  8. Here I am at last…a little late…okay A LOT late for this week’s random! But, I have this crazy funk going that I can’t shake. Oh well, no worries – I’m trying to get myself out of this blogging slump. *sigh*

Oh yeah for you, Auntie Annie’s brand ambassador! I just love those pretzels. Mmmm, I’m green with envy girlie! I don’t buy the Auntie Annie’s hot pretzels too often because you know ridiculous I am about avoiding unneeded calories, but I DO enjoy sniffing the air every time I at the mall. I hope you have a blast!

Thanks for hosting and for me dragging my feet to participate.
