The first day of spring is tomorrow, right? Mother Nature has been having multiple hot-flashes this winter in our neck of the woods, while giving everyone else the cold shoulder in the form of snow. She decided two days before spring was the perfect time to do this (finally):
Unfortunately, even that didn’t give us the good playable snow we’d been wishing for all winter long – it was yet another nuisance snow that turned into rain and was quickly washed away into oblivion (or at least that’s what I’m expecting at the time I type this – I’ll let you know if we end up getting snowed in. Yeah, I wasn’t able to type that last part with a straight face).
Speaking of nuisance… The hubby and I aren’t reality show fans, but there are a select few we like to enjoy for the entertainment factor. Celebrity Apprentice happens to be one of them – for now. We both concur that Omarosa is a witch – La Toya Jackson said so, and we agree wholeheartedly.
I know at least one or two of you are watching Celebrity Apprentice like the hubby and I are – could you believe the tenacity of that woman? And by tenacity, I really mean bitchiness. Ahem.
LaToya obviously didn’t want to subject herself to Omarosa’s venom in the boardroom – how else can you explain why La Toya didn’t bring Omarosa back into the boardroom to potentially be fired? La Toya pretty much signed her firing papers with that move.
I wouldn’t have a problem with Omarosa if she weren’t so incredibly self-centered – just by the things that come out of her mouth proves how ME ME ME she is. Self-absorbed and witchy people are not my cup of tea. Just sayin’. I’ll be dancing a jig when she’s finally fired – there’s no way she’ll win, I’m pretty sure Donald Trump is smarter than that. At least I hope so.
Speaking of being (not so) smart… I totally failed on the whole St. Patrick’s Day fun for the kids – I had all these elaborate plans (in my head) for green milk, green toilet water and a leprechaun trap, and did nothing. Ooops. Luckily the kids couldn’t read my mind, and have no idea what they might have missed out on, so that’s a good thing.
At least one thing I did do was made the most delicious dinner if I do say so myself (and I do). Since I’m not a corned beef and cabbage kinda girl, I opted to go with my buddy Jan of Jan’s Sushi Bar‘s most delectable pot roast recipe. I bought the kind of roast she recommended would do well in a crock-pot, since I wanted the feast to be an easy one. I totally neglected to take pictures, but I’m happy to say it turned out looking exactly like Jan’s:
Not only was it easy, but it was unbelievably delicious – it literally melted in your mouth. Uber picky Little Dude even gobbled it down instead of staring at his plate forlornly, wishing it would magically turn into a corn-dog, like he usually does with anything new.
Both Princess Nagger and the hubby went back for seconds – and for Princess Nagger, that’s a major coup, especially since she rarely ever finishes her first serving. Definitely a keeper recipe (thanks, Jan!) and definitely one that will be made again.

This was the first year that Jude didn’t build a Leprechaun trap – a little sad. His traps were so ingenious. I am DEFINITELY going to have to try out Jan’s pot roast. Jimmy’s so pick about meat that I’m hesitant with most beef recipes. But I will take your advice!

Oh man. I remember that Omarosa broad on the first or second season of Apprentice years ago. I hated her then. You couldn’t pay me to watch her now.

I’m right there with you, Missy – I didn’t like her AT ALL when she was on The (regular) Apprentice years ago – I have an issue with her being on ‘celebrity’ apprentice – she’s not truly a celebrity, at least not by my definition. And she’s just plain mean and a train wreck – which, I’m sure, is why they have her on there – for the ratings. But if she’s up for firing and doesn’t get fired, I’ll stop watching. I can’t imagine Donald Trump would want someone like that associated with his name ‘brand’.
I think you’re on to something there – those that hate snow got dumped on, and those like me who actually love the stuff didn’t! 🙂
I can so relate to the cartoon… I do my best thinking in the middle of the night – then in the morning, I forget most of it (or I remember and don’t sleep a wink)

PN might be hitting a growth spurt it as at her age that TJ started eating everything on his plate and the leftovers off his brothers. It back fired when I said he could do this and now AJ waits for TJ to want his to say he’s done, but then be blaming TJ for eating his and looking for something he likes. But TJ still while thin eats more than the rest. I totally had that brain thing happen this morning while “napping”

We had more snow over the weekend and more last night. We’re going to be in the low 30’s for the next week. Yuck!! I just want spring to get here. Sorry you didn’t get snow to play in. Mother Nature could’ve played nice and given you one good storm. She’s pretty fickle like that.
We didn’t do anything for St. Patrick’s Day either. Having it on a Sunday made it easier for me to not have to to crazy with that stuff.

Celebrity Apprentice IS a little lame this year, isn’t it? I mean – ALL-Star? Really? And Omarosa is considered THAT? Not by my standards.
