It’s been a very long time (3 years? Time sure flies by way too fast) since I’ve participated in the fun with Mrs. 4444’s at Half-Past Kissin’ Time, but thought what better way to start off the new month and rejoin Friday Fragments?Β  Besides, since Kailani hasn’t been hosting Aloha Friday since way back in November, it’s gotten awfully lonely over here on this blog on Friday’s.Β  So let’s jazz it up with some fragmented thoughts, shall we?

March has arrived.Β Β  Only one more month for the first quarter of the new year, and only three months until Princess Nagger is finished with Elementary School.Β  No matter what I do, time seems to keep flying by way too fast.

Speaking of time flying by…Β  Today Princess Nagger will be performing in her very first play – for those of you just tuning in, she auditioned for the musical version of Red Riding Hood and won the part of ‘Granny’:

In this version the wolf doesn’t eat Granny, instead Granny tells the wolf off and storms off to find Riding Hood, returning later after the wolf learns that being nice and sharing is the way to go.Β  They all sing and share cookies together at the end.Β  Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean to give away the ending for you.

Yesterday was the one and only dress rehearsal for the play – when I awoke Princess Nagger for school, she told me that she was supposed to wear a dress to school for the ‘dress’ rehearsal.Β  But she also wasn’t enthusiastic about wearing a dress yesterday since it also happened to be gym day, and who wants to run around in gym wearing a dress?Β  Instead she went to school in her favorite leopard print top – so for rehearsals she was a hip granny.

Speaking of hip… You’ve seen where people fold dollar bills that freakishly show the Twin Towers, right?Β  I saw this one floating around that made me hungry:

Pancakes5dollarbill

Of course now I’ll be spending an inordinate amount of time trying to replicate that myself.Β  I might have to recruit Princess Nagger to flex her mad origami skillz to help figure this one out.

Speaking of replicating… these apple pie apples look yummy:

ApplePieApple2

Don’t those look fun and delicious? Β  I searched to see who the original perpetrator of this recipe wasΒ  (since a version of it was floating on Facebook last week) and I think I honed it down to The Girl Who Ate Everything.Β  You can find the actual recipe there, in case you want to try this yourself.Β  I’m going to recruit Princess Nagger into helping me make some this weekend – I’ll let you know how they turn out.Β  I wonder how she’ll feel about all this recruiting I’ll be doing of her?

That’s it for this week – I’m looking forward to getting back into the fragmented fun and catching up with friends old and new.Β  If you have fragmented or random thoughts more than once a week, you’re always welcome to join me for Random Tuesday Thoughts each week as well.Β  Have a great weekend!

For you amazing new followers, in case you missed it, Google Friend Connect is not available for those of us not hosted on Blogger – so we’re stuck with utilizing an alternative with LinkyFollowers – I’d appreciate if you followed me there, because I’m a long way off from the 2000 I had following me on GFC.

Kailani’s had her plate full and hasn’t had the linky up for way too long for Aloha Friday, so I’ve brought back the Friday Free For All I used to have available for you – link up if you’re participating in any or none of the Friday fun I’m participating in, or especially if you’re new to my blog so I can easily come pay you a visit:

  1. Yes, they grow up way too fast. Don’t blink. Seriously. Because when you open your eyes Nagger will be a teenager.

Are you the host of RTT? I just recently came back to the blogger world and I can’t figure out who did that. It was one of my favorite segments.

    1. Thank you so much, Callie! I can’t wait to see the play this afternoon! The hubby’s going to record it while I take a million pictures. πŸ™‚ Hopefully her costume and hair last through the day until the play…heh! πŸ™‚

Those apples sure do look worth trying – I think I’m going to try my hand at them this weekend! πŸ™‚ Have a great weekend, my friend! πŸ™‚

HAHAHAHAHAHA People definitely have too much time on their hands. So you’re bringing back Friday what? 1. You certainly are a hip granny – I mean NaNee, Marie! πŸ˜€ That folded bill sure does prove people have way too much time on their hands – wish they’d share that extra time with those of us who need more! πŸ˜€ I think I do need to make a Friday Free For All button – maybe this weekend…I’ll be sure to send you the code. πŸ™‚ Friday Fragments is Mrs. 4444’s baby – she’s had it for years and it’s been 3 years since I’ve participated. I forgot how much fun it is! πŸ™‚ Have a great weekend! πŸ™‚

    1. The apples do look adorable (and tasty) don’t they? πŸ™‚ I haven’t figured out if the dollar bill thing is true or Photoshop – I’m leaning towards true simply because of the Twin Towers one (and yes, you are out of the loop…heh!) I think a scientific experimentation is in order (or in other words, recruiting Princess Nagger’s mad Origami skillz to see if she can fold it that way to prove or disprove the pancakes). πŸ˜€

  3. I’m sure the Five dollar fold is a photoshop trick but it did have me looking for a $5 bill. Maybe you could send me one to try πŸ˜‰
Interesting kid-friendly twist to little red riding hood.

  4. Yes, they DO grow up fast and once she leaves elementary school time really starts to fly by. My daughter turns 25 tomorrow which is damn near impossible since I’m only 28.

Something I started when she was in girl scouts, not so intentionally but recommend you do it, is a mother daughter pic once a year. We were at events and one of us would randomly grab a camera and do one of those extended arm self portraits. I now have several years of us together and really regret I didn’t do the same with my sons.

    1. AHAHAHA! I’m going to remember that when Princess Nagger turns 25 and I’ll only be 28. πŸ˜‰

I LOVE that idea – that’s one thing I’m really bad about, and I do need to make sure I take pics of PN and me together. Especially so she’ll have those for the day when I’m no longer on this earth (perish the thought!) I love that you do the self portraits with your daughter – I think I’ll follow your lead! πŸ™‚

    1. There were a few Aloha Friday meme’s floating around, all except Kailani were simply blogger follows. Kailani’s was the ‘original’ with the simple question. I hope she brings it back someday!

I bet you could make the apple pie apples with red apples… πŸ˜‰

The play was awesome – even though we couldn’t hear a thing because they didn’t have the mic’s set up correctly. But I was SO stinkin’ proud of PN because she was the ONLY one who didn’t carry the paper around with her lines on it – she memorized them! πŸ™‚

  5. I was literally just saying, ‘how can it be March already?’ That means only three more months of school. Not that I have kids in school, but I know people….I digress.
Thanks for this post and good luck to your Princess Nagger!

  6. I have to agree that whoever folds money has too much time and not enough to spend that money on! :). Although that was pretty neat.

Sounds like a fun play, glad Granny doesn’t get eaten…

  7. Yay I think I managed to link up! Those apples look delicious! I saw your pics of PN’s costume on Facebook, and she looked so cute! Way to pull such a cute costume together =) I’m not sure how much I’m looking forward to the days of “oh I forgot this important thing I HAVE to have today” and try to magically pull it all together.

    1. Yay! Thanks for linking up, Jessica! πŸ™‚ Thinking of those apples is making me hungry… πŸ˜€ PN was very happy how her costume came together (even though she was a little leery at first about wearing a doily on her head and using a table runner as a shawl…heh!) Those days of forgetfulness will definitely be part of the kid mode, but I suspect you’ll be able to work some magic! πŸ˜‰

  8. Yum, those apple things do look fantastic! I may have to try that, thanks for sharing!

Welcome back to the FF fun!

Congrats to Princess Nagger on her Granny impression. That’s a much better ending if I do say so myself. And yes, times certainly flies by when marked by fast growing children. It is crazy to contemplate, isn’t it??

    1. They look easy and delicious, don’t they Kay? πŸ™‚ And thank you very much for the welcome! πŸ˜€ Princess Nagger had so much fun being Granny – especially since the wolf didn’t eat her. πŸ˜‰ The hubby made the same observation after Princess Nagger arrived – now we can physically watch time fly by as she and Little Dude progress and grow… It is crazy to contemplate! πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for stopping by!

  9. Ah, HERE you are. So now I see why I’m just now meeting you through FFs, it’s because you haven’t played in three years and that’s sorta how long I HAVE been playing.

Sorry I’m so slow getting around to all the ff posts this week – – – I’ll try to do better next time.

  10. First time linking up. Looking forward to meeting new friends. I like the new twist on Red Riding Hood certainly makes the role of Grandma more fun

  11. 3 years wow…
Some people just have too much time on their hands. I have tons of patience but would probably go out of my mind trying to find this stuff on dollar bills.
I hope Princess has a blast with the play.
Its so sad when Elementary school is over:(
My daughter made those apples last week! She saw them on Facebook.
    Have a Blessed weekend!!

    1. I couldn’t believe it myself when I checked back on old posts – I can’t figure out how I let 3 years slip by so fast! πŸ™‚ I feel the same way – I’d go out of my mind trying to fold money to see what hidden pictures can be found. πŸ™‚ Princess Nagger absolutely had a blast at the play – and she was the only one who memorized her lines – she’s a natural. πŸ™‚ It is sad when Elementary school is over – at least I have a back-up to extend it since Little Dude will be starting Kindergarten next fall…heh! How cool your daughter made those apples last week – I bet they turned out extra yummy! πŸ™‚ Hope you’re having a Blessed weekend! πŸ™‚

  12. I really appreciate your putting effort into trying to find the original source of that recipe; I think that’s considerate.

I can’t believe your daughter is almost old enough for middle school–That’s CRAZY! I look forward to the play recap–I’ll bet you had a ball and took a photo or two πŸ™‚ “Dress rehearsal”…so cute.

Welcome back, and thanks for linking up! πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Mrs. 4444’s – I do like to try to trace things back to the ‘source’ to give credit where it’s due. πŸ™‚

Isn’t it crazy how fast time has flown by? Hard to believe Princess Nagger is now a Tween (Lord help me when she becomes a TEEN.) πŸ˜€ The play was cute – I’ll definitely do a recap this week (with pictures, of course! heh!)

Thanks for the warm welcome back – and thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚ Enjoy the rest of your weekend! πŸ™‚

  13. It’s so nice to read your fragments, it’s been awhile. You know, I was really bummed when GFC went away for non Blogger blogs and now I kinda love it. I don’t miss it at all. Traffic didn’t go down and I’m not looking at the numbers everyday.
