Foggy Brain Friday Fragments with Fun Trivia

Do you ever have those days where your brain is in a fog and your motivational factor is null and void?  That’s pretty much how this week has been.  I haven’t quite put my finger on the ‘why’ yet, I’m sure it’s a combination of still adjusting to the time difference, the hubby’s new schedule and the never-ending kid ‘tude that’s been running rampant lately with both kids.

I’m thinking escaping (and by ‘escaping’ I really mean ‘running away’) to a nice tropical island somewhere would be a great idea.  Just sayin’.

Let’s have some fun today and all, shall we?  Here’s some facts for you to ponder:

You burn more calories sleeping than you do watching television (unless you fall asleep while watching television, I assume).

The first CD pressed in the US was Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA”

A duck’s quack doesn’t echo and no one knows why.

The 57 on the Heinz ketchup bottle represents the number of varieties of pickles the company once had.

Pearls melt in vinegar (I better not tell Princess Nagger that, she’ll want to conduct a scientific experiment).

Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning (I’m going to remember that the next time I’m having trouble getting the motor running in the morning, even with copious amounts of coffee).

Now some questions to ponder:

If procrastinators had a club would they ever have a meeting?

If the #2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still #2?

Have you ever wondered why just one letter makes all the difference between here and there?

How do you know when it’s time to tune your bagpipes?

Speaking of things to ponder…  posted this last week and I thought it was funny:

TaylorSwift

Speaking of funny…

WineFunny

Amen to that.

Speaking of wine…  I got this spam comment left on my winemaking page:

WineComment

Yes, I literally laughed out loud when I read that.  I mean really?   I have no words.

Next weekend is Easter – I’m already plotting and planning fun for the kids as well as our yummy family dinner.  I ran across this idea, and think I’ll definitely have to make these little bunny rolls:

bunnybuns

I found out later that the bunnies actually pictured are lemon filled cookies rather than dinner rolls, but I’m going to see if I can manage to make them in dinner roll style and not have them look like this:

bunnybuns2

Those ‘reality’ ones look pretty scary, don’t they?  I suspect mine will look somewhere in between those two.  We’ll see.  Of course I’ll share with you so you can decide.

That’s it for this week – sorry I ran out of time and didn’t visit everyone last week – after I get back from my semi-monthly grocery shopping this afternoon, I’ll start to hippity hop through all the links and finish up this weekend.

If you have fragmented or random thoughts more than once a week, you’re always welcome to join me for Random Tuesday Thoughts each week as well. Have a great weekend!

For you amazing new followers, in case you missed it, Google Friend Connect is not available for those of us not hosted on Blogger – so we’re stuck with utilizing an alternative with LinkyFollowers – I’d appreciate if you followed me there, because I’m a long way off from the 2000 I had following me on GFC.

I’ve brought back the Friday Free For All I used to have available for you – link up if you’re participating in any or none of the Friday fun I’m participating in, or especially if you’re new to my blog so I can easily come pay you a visit:

About Stacy (the Random Cool Chick)

After 20+ years in the Corporate World and years of infertility, Princess Nagger made her miraculous appearance and I chose to become a SAHM and WAHM - I love every minute of it. We added Little Dude through adoption, adding a whole new dimension to our family. We have an eclectic mix of pets: dogs, cats, birds and fish. I love to cook and try new techniques to turn ordinary into extraordinary. Crafty by nature, I take on a lot of unique projects and enjoy seeing the end result. My favorite, of course, is making my own wine out of fruits and grapes. Experiments with water currently underway. I blog about the joys of parenting, family, friends, life, love and anything else that strikes my fancy. I do enjoy doing reviews and giveaways for products I use, believe in and can stand behind.

  1. Regarding wine, I know that the grape said nothing when trodden on by the elephant – it just let out a little wine…..
Love the questions to ponder, and the Friday Free For All too of course – thanks for hosting.

  2. I saw the bunnies on Pinterest and assumed they were rolls too. Mine would be more apt to come out like the scary rabbits : ) Have a great weekend!

  3. hahaha Sometimes you’re just too funny & those biscuits… cute! Maybe for Halloween though LOL Try pinching off the point maybe it’ll look less scary. ~snicker~ And your anonymous question, I totally bust out laughing. Oh brother, give me a break! Have a great weekend my friend! hugs

  4. Evil bunnies are always fun for easter – so good luck with that 🙂

I actually knew that about apples. I swear by them. I try to eat one every day & I say the good ol motto “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”

I love stupid trivia… didnt know that was the first CD pressed. Pretty cool!

  5. Well now…those bunnies look like something that came out of a Disturbed music video. And gees 57 kinds of pickles?!? I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing

  6. That trivia is totally awesome! My husband is sitting across from me on his own laptop, and not listening to me as I recite them. Sigh.

The reality bunnies look like evil devil bunnies! lol Good luck with the dinner rolls!

  7. speaking as a first rate procrastinator, no we never will have that meeting.

I remember those tiny toy pianos. I never had one but I did have serious piano envy of my friends who did

  8. those buns look like cats – maybe scary cats.
“Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up” – only when they are thrown at you.

  9. hahaha- I don’t know what was funnier there.
Those bunnies are cute no matter what you put in them

have a great weekend and shy even share the wine?? 🙂

  10. All of the above are great, lol.

If your rolls turn out like the ‘reality’ bunnies you could use them for Halloween. 🙂

  11. The reality bunnies look a little like Bunnicula!

I’m going to need to stock up on apples because my coffee consumption is going way up!

Procrastinators meetings would probably consist of the texts that occur when they all let each other know they aren’t prepared and are running late!

  12. What?! “Both” kids?! That’s really funny–I had to go read your About page and learned that you now have TWO kids! Congratulations 🙂

Those fragmented facts were truly interesting, and I learned a few things! Thanks for linking up 🙂

  13. You don’t know what foggy brain truly is until you’ve met me. I walk around with one of those every single moment of my life and yes, I blame it on hormones, hehe. What else, right?

I love the Easter “bunnies” and their devilish horns 🙂 And Taylor’s post is quite cute and interesting (is that teeny tiny piano actually working?)

  14. Wow! You have a lot of frags and I didn’t know any of those great facts 🙂
