Cigna GO YOU Facestrument App Promotes Silly Fun for Health

 

Did you know… There is a wicked cool Facebook game called Facestrument that turns your face into a musical instrument. I. Kid. You. Not. It is hysterical – it uses a webcam and facial recognition technology so the user can wink, blink, nod, and smile along to the beat of a song.

If you can keep up, you’ll get a score at the end that reflects how accurately you performed – and you’ll even be able to save your video so you can share your funky jamming with your friends. Seriously.

Here’s a teaser so you’ll see what I’m talking about:

When you go to start of the app, this is what you see:

The three levels have three different kinds of music to choose:

• Indie Rock (easy)
• Hip-Hop (medium)
• Pop (hard)

I had so much fun trying it out, but my timing was way off – so this is the message I got at the end:

I’m embarrassed to admit that was on the easy mode. Apparently I need to learn to loosen up a bit. Ahem. Princess Nagger thought it was absolutely hysterical, so I volunteered her to jam like a rock star and at first she couldn’t stop laughing so she ended up having to do it again. And again. And again. Here’s her funny face video result:

Princess Nagger decided we needed to do a competition, so we took turns trying to beat our previous scores. I probably don’t have to tell you that she won every single time. I think I’m going to have to spend some time practicing while she’s at school and challenge her to a rematch.

Usually I’m not one to play games on Facebook, but this one is so completely unique, and being able to enjoy some silly quality time with Princess Nagger made it absolutely worthwhile. Sometimes you just need to get goofy – the boisterous laughter is always a welcome and musical sound.
