I hope those of you who had Nemo entertain you with the overabundance of snow are warm and cozy – some people lost power and I sure hope they get it back, because while I like snow, not having power to keep warm and sane would probably change my mind about snow.Β  I kept hoping against hope that Nemo would come for a visit, but he snubbed us royally.Β  All we got was rain and big wet snowflakes that didn’t stick, followed by blustery gusty winds that chilled to the bone but still no white stuff.Β  I’m a bit miffed at Mother Nature.

Since it’s Monday, it’s time for some great music – for those snowed in, maybe this will help entertain you.Β  This week’s theme for Monday’s Music Moves me is favorite Love Songs, with the challenge to find some without the word “love” in the title.Β  I’m a romantic at heart, so naturally I had a very long list of favorites to choose from, and had to flip coins and play eeny, meeny, miny, moe to finally whittle the selections down to some of my top choices.Β

Let’s start off with an artist who had this to say about his song: “Being a married man, I also like the message – telling your woman she’s beautiful as she is – she doesn’t need all that glamour. The woman you are right now, no makeup and just hanging out in a pair of old jeans and t-shirt -that’s the woman I love.”Β

JoeNichols

Here’s the cutey Joe Nichols with “Gimmie That Girl”:

Next up is a fun song that plays on the fact that a majority of guys aren’t romantic – some aren’t good at saying how they feel, so they’ll turn it into something funny so they don’t sound like a dork.Β

With lyrics like “You be my soft and sweet / I’ll be your strong and steady / You be my glass of wine / I’ll be your shot of whiskey / You be my sunny day / I’ll be your shade tree / You be my honeysuckle / I’ll be your honey bee”Β  how can you not melt? Especially when it’s being sung by Blake Shelton.Β

BlakeShelton

Here he is with “Honey Bee”:

Next up is a song from one of my all-time favorite artists – he apparentlyΒ re-wrote a small portion of the lyrics to personalize the song more closely to his own life.Β  Of course he did.Β  He’s cool like that.Β

BradPaisley

Here’s my boy Brad Paisley with “She’s Everything”:

Next up is a song that many of you’ve probably heard at a million weddings – maybe even your own.Β  The goosebump-inducing song will never go out of style.Β

RascalFlatts

Here’s Rascal Flatts with “Bless The Broken Road”:

Next up is another one from Brad Paisley – I almost went for a Trifecta since there are so many songs of his to choose from, but it was making my title too long, so I had to choose wisely.Β  This song is hilarious and sweet all rolled into one.Β

It should be noted that the very last clip of he and his real-life-wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley (whom I also love) was an accident, but they decided to leave it in because it was funny.Β  You’ll see.Β

Here’s Brad Paisley with “Little Moments”:

Last, but certainly not least, this next artist (who is married to an equally superstar wife and will be celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary next month), got a lot of negative reviews on this song because people thought it was beneath him.Β  I know, I don’t get it either.Β

I happen to think he did an awesome job on the song, it’s fun and playful and both Princess Nagger and I love to sing along to it when it comes on the radio.Β

TimMcGraw

Here’s Tim McGraw with “Felt Good On My Lips”:

Ooh ooh ooh I wanna go crazy – you can go crazy too…Β  See?Β  I bet you’ll be singing the chorus in your head all day today, too.Β Β Everybody say Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh how sweet it is… Have a great Monday.

  1. Oh man I love all of these! Wow how can you not love these guys? You know I live only a few miles from Blake Shelton’s hometown. When we first moved here he was doing local concerts dirt cheap and some times free!

My husband was listening with me though and he said ‘She’s Everything’ is definitely more like me!

I hope you have a great week! πŸ™‚

It’s a shame he didn’t win last night, but just being in the running for an award is sweet too! Sweet song by Mr. Paisley as well, but love the second video even more. That old couple is too sweet & the ending is a hoot! Now bless Rascal Flatts is all I can say to that while having goose bumps. Tim McGraw they came on last night & I couldn’t even see his face because of his hat! lol Great choices my friend… dang girl I was here a long time. πŸ™‚
