Hello Monday.  Today’s a very special day.  Not only will we be arriving outside of Reno to visit my best friend (whom I haven’t seen in about 10 years or more, but who’s counting? I guarantee it’ll be like we just saw each other yesterday.  And will be awesome). Today is the official kick-off to the final 5 weeks towards our Monday’s Music Moves Me 100th Celebration.  And the awesome giveaway that our fearless leader, Xmas Dolly so tirelessly put together.  Grab a song and play along, you’ll be glad you did.

Here’s hoping that the road trip has been uneventful so far – I’m pre-scheduling some posts so my blog doesn’t gather dust bunnies while I’m gone, particularly since having internet connection over the next two weeks will be hit-and-miss.  Or maybe I’ll surprise you and pop up when least expected.  Meanwhile, forgive my lack of visits to your blogs while I’m enduring longs hours of driving and trying to make as much time on the road during the daylight hours as possible.

When we stop for the night, I’ll try to make some visits, but it’ll all be dependent on how good the internet connection is, and how much distraction there will be with the hubby, 2 kids and 2 dogs all crammed into one room.  Good thing I packed wine.

Today’s theme is a freebie – so let’s have some fun, shall we?  Since we’re traveling, I thought it appropriate to dig up some fun songs that highlight just that.  Let’s start with a song from two of my favorite artists, particularly since this song resonates with me being that I’m on my way ‘home’ to where my family and friends are.

Sure, it’s only for a short visit, but next year we’ll hopefully be making this trip for the final time as we move ‘home’.  Give a listen to Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles with “Who Says You Can’t Go Home”:

Next up is a song that is always touted as a great traveling or road trip song, here’s Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers with “Runnin’ Down A Dream”:

Next is a song that, while doesn’t fit me since I’ll be in the driver’s seat the whole way, definitely fits Princess Nagger since she’ll be the one in the passenger seat chewin’ on a Slim Jim.  Here’s SheDaisy with “Passenger Seat”:

Next up is a classic song that always comes to my head when I think about a road trip, but I decided to go with one of my favorite group’s version of it – here’s Rascal Flatts with their version of “Life Is A Highway”:

Finally, another classic that I can’t leave out, here’s Steppenwolf with “Born To Be Wild”:

What’s your favorite traveling song? Enjoy your Monday!
