Another weekend that went by too fast, another Monday here again.  This happens to be the last Monday of Princess Nagger’s school year – how did that happen?  That’s right, I blinked.

At least Monday’s are fun days, since we get to enjoy some great music.  This week’s theme for Monday’s Music Moves Me is songs from movies – it’s cool how many great songs have been featured in some great (and maybe not-so-great) movies.

Let’s start with one of my favorite movies from the 90’s, City of Angels:

Another song from the same movie, this song gets me all teary-eyed every time I hear it.  Here’s Sarah McLachlan with “Angel”:

Little known fact about the previous song, “Angel” is sometimes called “In the Arms of the Angel” or simply “Arms of the Angel” but it’s actually just “Angel”.  Who knew?

Who doesn’t like the movie Ghost:

A song that everyone I know would sing along with (including me), here’s the Righteous Brothers with “Unchained Melody”:

Next is a movie both Princess Nagger and I really enjoyed, Rio:

Next is a movie that everyone talked about for years after it was released (and people wished they could dance like that), Flashdance:

And finally, a movie from 1990 that had a lot of my favorite actors in it, Young Guns II:

  3. I love all of your movie themes, girl! This one has been a real fun & cool one to do. I think we’ll need to do it again, what do you think? Not long ago, I watched City of Angels for the first time. It was interesting, but so sad! I enjoyed dancing with you. Have a great week!

  15. I know what you mean about the year passing so quickly! It’s true it seems like you blink and they’re another year older! ;( City of Angels has a brilliant soundtrack, I also love Paula Cole Feelin’ Love from that movie!
    Young Guns is also one of my fav western style movies next to Tombstone! As usual I love all your picks! 🙂

  16. I absolutely love all your picks, especially the first video-Even though the song is slow, I really enjoyed it. Probably the instrumentals in it; I’m a sucker for anything with extra instrumentals aside from the “normal” stuff 🙂

  18. City of Angels is one of my favorite movies as well! I cried when Meg Ryan died, the Angel’s sacrifice was worthless. This is so saddening.

  19. Ghost is my favorite that movie makes me cry, but I love all your picks. I’d love to say more, but I’m done packing & off to bed. Vacation tomorrow morn woo hoo Oh & BON JOVI (he’s got such great buns) hhehehehe love love love (that man can park his slippers under my bed any time hubby ain’t home bawahahahahahahaha)!
