Any of you pet owners will understand that your pets are an extension of your family.  You know, the 4-legged kids.  You love them unconditionally because they love you unconditionally. Except when it’s cupboard love.  When it comes to treats, of course.  How can you resist these faces:

Even when they’ve obviously been frolicking in the mud, you still dote on them – albeit at a distance:

Whenever we ask them if they’d like a treat, they sit in what we refer to as ‘show dog mode’, anxiously anticipating something yummy. Hubby keeps trying to get them to sit still long enough to balance a treat on their nose, but they’re too wound up about getting treats to hold still long enough.

They do obey the command ‘sit’, or ‘park your butt’, and Rolex will make a very good effort at shaking to get a treat. Travis, on the other hand, is a hyper busy-body 24/7, so when you try to get him to shake he gets up and dances instead.

Apparently he’s thinking a different kind of ‘shake’.

When I was asked to review the new Cesar Cookie Crunchies, I was thrilled to do so:

I received two flavors – Filet Mignon and Rotisserie Chicken.  They look good enough to eat, don’t they?  Both dogs loved them – I think they set a record for how fast they gobbled them down when I gave them some.  Every time I bring out the bags now, they automatically go into show dog mode without me even telling them to.

In fact, Rolex, who isn’t a big tail-wagger, will wag his tail every time I bring out these bags of treats, so they definitely are Rolex and Travis approved in a big way.  If your dog is pleasantly plump and you’re trying to get him/her to slim down a bit (like we’re working on with Tank Travis), no worries as these are only 10 calories each.

Did you know that Cesar doesn’t just make great dog treats but they support and work with Therapy Dog Organizations?  Cesar believes that everyone’s life can be improved by having a loving relationship with a dog.  I absolutely agree.  You can find Cesar on facebook and twitter.

If you have pets – dogs or cats – do you give them treats?
