Princess Nagger inherited the pack-rat gene from me, so her room tends to get overrun with too much stuff.  That ‘stuff’ tends to then overflow downstairs in the living room, which can drive a mama crazy.  Or crazy-er.

In order to cut down on the excess, I have to get sneaky – no way can I parade a pile of broken toys past her to get rid of them, so usually I’ll try to clear out the excess while she’s at school.  But what happens when she gets home and sees the pile of her forgotten treasures waiting for the garbage guys to pick up?  Enter Black Glad Trash Bags – problem solved.

What she can’t see she can’t turn all Drama Queen over.

I’ve used many other brands of trash bags over the years – and have found out of all of them, Glad does the job right.  I remember after one of Princess Nagger’s birthday parties we were doing the not-so-fun job of cleaning up.  I had, in an effort to save a little money, bought generic store brand garbage bags.  They were a nightmare – ripping open when you least expect it, causing an even bigger mess to clean up.

I ended up not saving much money, because I had to double bag, and in some cases triple bag the garbage.  When you’re using two to three times the number of bags, not so much of a money saver.  Now I use Glad all the time – and I’m glad I do.  I love that the Glad Black Bags are tear resistant because there is nothing worse then pulling a trash bag out and have it break or leak all over the place – which has happened more times than I care to admit.

Glad Black Bag Art Auction

Glad is embracing “Life’s Wild Moments” and encouraging Moms to do the same.  As Moms we know these wild moments happen usually at the most inopportune times but with Glad bags clean up is a breeze.  Currently Glad Black Bag is having a great Art Auction taking place on eBay.  It’s a wonderful partnership with famous mosaic artist, Jason Mecier, the Picker Sisters and Keep America Beautiful (KAB).

They have gotten together and found new and smart ways to reuse trash.  The beautiful works of art are absolutely amazing – my favorite of the four available is the raccoon:

If you click on the picture, it will take you directly to the auction where they have lots of pictures to really show you how impressive it is.  Who knew things like an egg carton, old toothbrush, nail polish, light bulbs, bottle caps – and so much more – could be turned into amazing art?  I wish I had that kind of talent, then I’d have an excuse for saving old stuff.

Celebrated mosaic artist Jason Mecier has created four works of art utilizing people’s trash or “wild life remnants,” including items collected during GACs from across the country, as well as items donated by celebrities, such as Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), Raphael Sbarge (Once Upon A Time) and Nathan Kress (iCarly). These works of art are being auctioned off during the Glad® Black Bag art auction on eBay for consumers to bid on, from April 16 through April 26, with proceeds benefiting KAB’s Great America Cleanup.

Do you reuse and recycle?  Have you ever made art out of trash?
