Prankity Prank Prank Prank

Sunday is April Fool’s Day.  Princess Nagger is a little bummed it doesn’t fall on a school day so she could pull some pranks on her classmates and teachers, but she’s been trying to figure out some fun pranks to pull on the hubby and Little Dude.  Since she loves pulling pranks, I think I’ll have to pull a few pranks of my own.  It’s only fair.

I had to Google April Fools Pranks to see if there were any ‘fresh’ ideas out there (we’ve already used the post-it note on the mouse, taped phones and whoopie cushions under the couch cushions to death, so it was time for some new ideas).  Here are some fun pranks that made me giggle – and might give you some ideas yourself, some of which I think I’ll have to pull just for fun:

Photo Switch

Find a small picture of a monkey (or anything else you think is funny) and use temporary glue (a glue stick works well) to place it over the photo on the victim’s driver’s license. Then send them out for beer, or find some other excuse to send them somewhere where they will need to show their ID.

Positively Scary

Ask a pregnant woman to take a pregnancy test for you, then bring it home and leave the stick in the bathroom for your husband to find. Make sure he doesn’t have a weak heart.

Just One More

Go on the internet and find a funny picture of something (example: a cartoon rabbit) and print out 24 of them. Hide the pictures all around the room in a mixture of easy and difficult places. Tape one that has a note saying “I bet you can’t find all 25 of the pictures”. Your victim will look for the 25th rabbit for a long time before you tell them that there were only 24.

Delicious

With the victim looking on, pretend you see a fly in the room. Grab a fly swatter and chase it around for a while. Then make a big swat, reach down and grab the “fly” (actually a raisin you’ve concealed in your hand), and gobble it down.

Can’t Flush Your Troubles Away

Pour some yellow food coloring into the upper tank of your victim’s toilet. Then wait for your victim to use the bathroom. They’ll flush and flush but won’t be able to flush it down.

Creamy Scoop

Get an ice cream cone, but instead of filling it with ice cream, fill it with a nice scoop of mashed potatoes (you could add sprinkles to make it look even more like an ice cream cone). Then offer the delicious treat to your victim.

And now for this week’s question:

Do you pull any pranks on April Fool’s Day? What are your favorite (or most successful) ones?

Have a great weekend!

About Stacy (the Random Cool Chick)

After 20+ years in the Corporate World and years of infertility, Princess Nagger made her miraculous appearance and I chose to become a SAHM and WAHM - I love every minute of it. We added Little Dude through adoption, adding a whole new dimension to our family. We have an eclectic mix of pets: dogs, cats, birds and fish. I love to cook and try new techniques to turn ordinary into extraordinary. Crafty by nature, I take on a lot of unique projects and enjoy seeing the end result. My favorite, of course, is making my own wine out of fruits and grapes. Experiments with water currently underway. I blog about the joys of parenting, family, friends, life, love and anything else that strikes my fancy. I do enjoy doing reviews and giveaways for products I use, believe in and can stand behind.

  1. Great ideas for April Fool’s Day.

I once had a student who could be cantankerous. Her mother was sweet. Last April Fool’s, her daughter and I planned a good prank.

I ran out into the living room telling her mother that I had had enough of her thankless daughter. I ranted and hissed much to the surprise of her mother. The latter offered me a raise to stay, virtually begging me.

We broke the news to her mother and I still got the raise anyway!

  2. Nice idea on April fools day! I think I like the photo switch idea where you can change other pictures you have. Thanks for sharing different ideas about April fools. They were lovely.

  3. Some great ideas that you found. No, I usually don’t do pranks, however, I guess the biggest one I did pull off, was at my parents. I was born on that date.

  4. Those are all so funny! The fly-raisin prank would be hilarious to pull on my kids. I’m not really much of a prankster, though. My husband is a firefighter and they love to pull pranks all the time at the firehouse.

  5. I have never been a prankser but you’ve got some wicked ideas there – I wonder how many pregnant women have ever been approached pre- April Fools Day!

    Enjoy your weekend!

  6. Growing up we celebrated my fathers birthday on April first because … it was his birthday. Now it’s just another day of memories. No April Fool pranks here. 😉

  7. Wow! I’ve just forgot about that it will be april fools day! Thanks or the reminder and for the nice inspiration as well!

  8. My children usually have a few pranks on hand, like switching the sugar with salt or putting sand from the sand pit in my shoes….I like your ‘icecream’ idea and will try this out on sunday 😉 Thanks for sharing.

    Love it.

Thanks for sharing…um yes I have played a prank or few before as a kid. NOt as an adult though which bums. I need to be around fun peeps. Sigh.

    Happy weekend!

  10. I always wish I could pull a prank. The daughter is disappointed that it is not a school day as well, and I am frightened of what she might have in mind!
