Today is the first day of July! Where’s the summer going already? We’re still enjoying our fun vacation in Corn Country with my sister and her family, along with my parents who joined us here from Seattle. Princess Nagger is in seventh heaven, pretty much being the center of attention. We have a fun-filled weekend planned, including a trip to the ginormous Farmer’s Market (that I bet Jan and Michele will be looking forward to hearing about – and expecting pictures, of course).
It’s hard to believe that Monday is already the 4th of July – since fireworks are not really allowed here in Iowa (the only type of fireworks that are legal here are sparklers – seriously! You’d think those would be the worrisome ones with the potential to burn digits and other stuff), we haven’t decided if we’ll go someplace where there’s an organized fireworks show or not. But we will be doing a lot of cooking out – my brother-in-law is a master at the grill. We might do a cook-off with my rib recipe vs. his – I’ll keep you posted on how that goes.

Woo Hoo I found someone & you’re not really here! No one has posted anything yet & it’s almost midnight. That’s kind of unusual don’t you think? Guess everyone went away for vacation or a long weekend, but we’re stuck here. Oh well, nothing going on except healing here. Even my bro who was supposed to have a pig roast Sunday is out of town stuck working. I am Mistress of the Grill. Hubby starts it & gets it hot, but I’m Chief Cook & bottle… dish washer! HAPPY 4TH Girlfriend, have a happy safe day to you & your family!
It’s funny that you asked that because I have been craving a home-grilled hamburger!!! Unfortunately for me, I do NOT use the grill, I have no idea how. That is my husbands duty and he is deployed. I may have to bribe one of my friends husbands to make me a burger because I really don’t want to have to wait until December when my hubby returns…
I kind of lean towards my George Foreman grill nowadays. Though we do have a gas grill. We love to cook hot dogs and hamburgers of course..but especially kabobs!! And the ever famous s’mores!! Yum!!

I’ve not have a cook out for myself but I’ ve been invited to some especially around superbowl. It’s fun.
We don’t have a grill so no mastery here. I keep hoping dh will want one but he isn’t the sort.

I love to cook out and I can cook on that grill. Summertime is for cooking outside.
We love to grill out! And my hubby is the master chef when it comes to grilling at our house…so I love it even more…yummy food!

Speaking of which, especially on the 4th, I love cook outs! However, I only enjoy them if someone else is in charge of the grill! LOL! Besides the fact that I don’t know my way around a grill, food just always tastes better when someone else cooks it!
