Little Peanut Nut: Wordless/Wordful Wednesday

in Wordful Wednesday,Wordless Wednesday

Princess Nagger was curled up like a little peanut asleep – or so I thought.  The first picture didn’t turn out light enough, so when I snapped this, the second one, you can tell she’s a little faker by the little grin that’s starting.  And yes, she does like to eat peanut butter right out of the jar – so I have one stashed for the hubby and me that she can’t get her hands (or spoon) on.

She likes to pretend to be asleep so one of us will carry her up the stairs to bed, so of course she then rolled over and buried her face to fool us into thinking she was sound asleep:

She’s getting a bit too big for us to carry up the stairs – or we’re just getting old.  I’ll opt for the former rather than the latter.  When I joked she looked like a little peanut, she replied:  “You are what you eat!”

doesn’t take up too much space and is quiet – seems like a good deal. Why do kids weight more when they are asleep?

2 SueAnn March 9, 2011 at 4:51 am

Ahhh!!! What a cutie pie!!
Well…did you carry her??

3 Raven March 9, 2011 at 6:59 am

My six year old still wants us to carry her sometimes. I think it is because they know they are getting bigger and they are trying to hold on to that baby state where they are fully dependent on us, even though they don’t realize that’s what’s going on.

That’s adorable. Love the huge jar of PB. We call my youngest little peanut, but I think he’s outgrowing the name, lol.

31 Lindsay March 9, 2011 at 10:16 pm

Muahaha! My kids do the same – especially at night in their carseats. Too bad for them I really CAN’T lug them inside.

And tell Princess nagger that dinosaurs are the bomb around here. They even get to play in the bathtub. ;-)

32 Hannah March 9, 2011 at 10:16 pm

Oh, the sly smile trick! I know that one. We try to do the limp arm test to see how asleep our girl is too. Sweet photos!

33 Elena March 9, 2011 at 10:53 pm

I love that she was faking sleep! I also love her comment. Too funny.

When I first saw that top pic, I thought… She is NOT asleep! Is she?? So glad you cleared that up! lol

I gotta say, I did the SAME thing when I was a kid! I used to fake being asleep so I would be carried. These pics and story are adorable! Poor dear, just wants to still be your BABY. ;-)

Hey, don’t know how much of a health nut you might be, but Peter Pan peanut butter recently went free of high fructose corn syrup!

35 Tracy March 9, 2011 at 11:43 pm

Haha! Funny kid re. you are what you eat. :)

I distinctly remember pretending to be asleep one time so a grown up could carry me into the car. Seeing this post brought back that memory. :)

36 alissa apel March 10, 2011 at 12:35 am

I’d love to be carried off to bed and I’m an adult.

She’s such a smart cookie, your Princess Nagger! :)

41 Jill March 10, 2011 at 7:16 am

Glad to see we aren’t the only one that has little fakers. But they are very cute.

42 Uyen March 10, 2011 at 7:27 am

that’s so funny that she’s pretending to sleep. I like the little smile on her face.

43 Carolyn G March 10, 2011 at 7:42 am

I used to do that when I was little. I loved being carried up to bed. LOL She is a doll

44 TornadoTwos March 10, 2011 at 9:10 am

Cute! One of my kids likes to pretend he’s asleep so we’ll carry him too. I love the big grin and attempt to hold back a laugh, and despite all that he truely thinks we’re fooled!

Thanks for visiting my blog

45 KLZ March 10, 2011 at 9:19 am

I kind of wish I could get away with fake sleeping more often. But at least I can still eat peanut butter straight from the jar!

46 Caitlin {Pacifier In My Pocket} March 10, 2011 at 10:06 am

Too cute! My 11 year old would have us carry her up the stairs if she thought she could get away with it. Love the peanut butter!

47 Lisa March 10, 2011 at 12:25 pm

I totally understand her love for peanut butter striaght out of the jar. There’s just something magical about it!

48 angie March 10, 2011 at 2:35 pm

We don’t do much carrying these days either!

49 Rj, Jessie and Brayden March 10, 2011 at 5:25 pm

P.S. Thanks for stopping by!

52 Casey March 11, 2011 at 9:23 am

Ha, she looks so tiny curled up in a ball like that. Especially next to that HUGE can of peanut butter. I remember pretending to be asleep when I was little, it was fun tricking my parents.

53 Krystyn March 15, 2011 at 8:54 am

Isn’t she witty? That’s a great response.

Sometimes, I wish my kids would fake sleep….they would be quiet, right?
