Original Butter Bell® Crock Review and Giveaway

Do you like to cook or bake with butter?  Do you get annoyed if you forget to let the butter sit out at room temperature and have to zap it in the microwave to soften it, only to go a little overboard and it melts, so you end up having to start over?  Me too!

I was perusing online recently, and ran across something that really caught my eye – the Original Butter Bell Crock.   A cool thing that allows you to keep your butter soft and fresh on your counter top for up to 30 days!  Be still my heart!  But being skeptical, I put off ordering one because I just wasn’t sure it was going to be what I needed.  So when I was offered to try one out to review, I was all over it.

I received the Antique Butter Bell Crock in Azure – and put it right to work.  It works!  And now I don’t have to worry about having to postpone some baking when the mood strikes, just to wait for the butter to achieve room temperature status!  Not to mention it’s nice to have real butter to put on bread without having to wait for it to soften up, or do the impatient thing and have the cold, hard butter rip your bread to shreds.  Not that that’s ever happened to me.  Much.

More about the Original Butter Bell® crock:

A modern version of the original French butter crock, the Original Butter Bell® crock allows butter to be kept at room temperature, on the counter or tabletop, for up to 30 days without spoilage, refrigeration or odors. Made from New Bone China, the highest quality ceramics available, the Butter Bell crock insures that under reasonable, correct usage, butter storage time can be up to 30 days. Most Butter Bell users consume a crock’s worth of butter within one week.

The unique design keeps butter at the perfect “spreading” consistency by reflecting outside heat while insulating and cooling the butter.  Flavor and freshness is protected by an airtight seal of water at the base of the crock.

The Butter Bell crock holds up to one full stick (1/2 cup) of butter.  Softened butter is packed firmly into the bell-shaped cup of the lid. Cold water is poured into the base of the crock. The lid is then placed upside down back into the base of the crock.  Soft, spreadable butter may be enjoyed and served right from the crock. Proper maintenance: Water should be changed out every three days.  Replace existing water in the base with fresh, cold water.

The Secret to Fresh Creamy Butter is the Airtight Seal

My mom and I were just talking about butter on the table at my great-grandma’s house and how she loved how soft it was but figured it wasn’t very safe to eat. But now it would be! After looking at the site I would like the bistro set because I would give it to my mom!
