Happy Aloha Friday!
In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So on Fridays let’s take it easy on posting, too. Ask a simple question…nothing that requires a lengthy response. It’s a great way to make new blogging friends!
It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday. So my question to you is:
Are you planning to do anything special for Mother’s Day?
Whether it be for your mother or the mother of your children or yourself (depending on if you are the mother). If you read my post from yesterday, you’ll know that I’m still working on my hubby about defining what Mother’s Day is really for.
Meanwhile, I’ve told him I don’t want to have to cook at all on Sunday and just have a nice relaxing day. I’m going to suggest getting steaks for the grill so he doesn’t mess up my pots and pans and kitchen with a mysterious concoction of cooking. Otherwise my ‘day after’ would be labor intensive, which would then cancel out the relaxation mode from Sunday.

Nope i don’t think we have anything special planned on that day.. given the fact that our moms are well all the way back home.. We’ll call them yes and maybe send some flowers through internet services .. that for sure will get there in time better than gifts:)

For the first time in many years, I am not cooking! We usually go to my mom’s house and I make lasagna & sides. This year, we’re hosting it at my house but hubby is grilling! And I will be relaxing by the pool! =D
we are going to the baseball game…and taking mom out to eat.

Not completely sure what we are doing. We want to have lunch or dinner with my mother since she is local. Aside from that we are debating going to Six Flags (but going to be really chilly) or perhaps a movie. Just not sure what to do at this point. Time

For Mother’s Day, I am driving my daughter, Gina to the Newark NJ airport so she can catch a flight to Ireland. I didn’t realize it was a 2 hour drive from her house tot he airport, but she’s saving $200 by not flying out of Philadelphia. And I live an hour from her!

My daughter in CA had some enormous steaks delivered to me yesterday so we will barbecue on Sunday and take it easy too. I don’t want to cook or clean or do any work on Sunday. So I know how you feel. I hope you have a wonderful relaxing fun Mothers Day!

My husband’s birthday is Saturday. So unfortunately we have to mostly celebrate that. Darn it!

My mum is gone, but in honor of her this mothers day I will be going and passing out flowers to all the mothers at our nursing home….then out to dinner at her favorite eatery;)
Seriously, I just need PB to come home. Then I want to spend time with the boys where neither of them is whining or outright crying because I’m giving the other too much attention.

I do hope you are pampered. As a suggestion for the sides to go with teh steak? maybe salad which should only take a cutting board, and bowl and water? 
or he could go crazy nad get some premade pasta salads at the Grocerysstore? That might work, and be less intensive?

I completely agree with your post from yesterday. My husband is the same way, but he knows I’ll be sad if he doesn’t give me something and he doesn’t want me to be sad.
I’m hosting brunch for my mom and my mom’s mom. We’ve done it for three years in a row now, and I just love it. I love getting to spend time with my grandparents… and of course, my mom. But I see her every week, so my time with my grandparents is a teeny bit more special.

I don’t know what is on the agenda for Sunday, but on Monday we are going away on a little mini-break with our daughter to a cabin in the country and to visit a dinosaur park and safari park. Not exactly lounging on the beach somewhere or soaking it up in a luxury spa but you know what, I am so looking forward to it.

Going to LA tomorrow with my daughter & SNL, meeting up with my son and his best girl. We will be going out to dinner. I can’t wait. That way they can go do stuff with the other mother’s on Sunday without feeling pressured.
My husband can’t join us because of a work thing. He did send me some awesome tulips.

I am a little late getting here. We went to my in laws to celebrate mothers day. I drove down to my mums on Friday to spend the day with her. It turned out that no one did anything for me though.
