It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to participate in Friday’s Fragments, and I have to say I’ve missed being entertained by fellow fragmenter’s.  So let’s get right to it, shall we?

We’ve had scorching hot weather this past week – but we are having a reprieve with the major thunderstorms that rolled through here last night.  Going from 90-degrees the past few days to a high of 57 today – what a major change!  But at least that will make visiting the laundromat today a much more pleasant experience.  If you can ever call a trip to the laundromat a ‘pleasant’ one.  We are looking at buying a new washer hopefully this weekend, or at least sometime next week.  It will be nice to be able to do laundry at home again.

Speaking of the broken washing machine – HH did finally speak to a manager of sorts at Sears.  He offered us a 10% discount on a new washer, but in order to take advantage of the discount, we were going to need to have him send a guy out to confirm that our washer is broken.  For $75.00.  Which, since the washers are on sale, would cost us about $10 more than what we would save.  We won’t be taking ‘advantage’ of the discount.

Princess Nagger is actually looking forward to going to the dentist this morning even though it’s not going to be fun addressing her abscessed tooth.  She’s only glad that the dentist appointment will make her miss swimming today.  Too bad I can’t take a hit off the laughing gas to calm my nerves during the procedure.  Hopefully she won’t have to have the tooth pulled, because that means the addition of a spacer to keep that spot open for when her adult tooth decides to replace it.

I was going to let her stay home today, but she wants me to drop her off after the appointment because one of her classmates is having a birthday celebration at school today.  She doesn’t want to miss the goody bag or the cupcakes.  You have to love the motivation for going to school on a Friday.

Princess Nagger was ecstatic when she saw this in the Scholastic Book Club flyer recently, so of course we ordered one:

Notice I had to take the first picture upside down because she had put her finished creation on top of the box.  She never ceases to amaze me with her unique creativity.  Here’s what her finished dinosaur looks like:

I still giggle every time I see it.

Our resident frog has returned to the pond.  Spring has definitely sprung:

Princess Nagger Conversation of the Week:

PN:  “What can I have to eat?”

Me:  “What do you mean?  You just had lunch!”

PN:  “But I’m still hungry!  I’m a growing kid, you know!”

If you’re just hanging out at home on Friday night (and blogging), feel free to join in on Ann’s Virtual Girl’s Night Out (boys are welcome, too!)

  1. Be glad she’s not a BOY growing kid, or you’d have to take out a second mortgage just to feed her during the teen years.

And the dinosaur? You are INSPIRED, Miss PN.

  4. Crazy appliance places know how to get us. Our machine part was covered, but we had to pay $100 for the service person to declare that was the problem and them for the labor to install it!!!!! For a few hundred more I could’ve bought a new one.

  5. For your sake, I am so glad your trip to the laundromat was “pleasant”. That is so difficult lugging all the clothes in and out. That whole encounter and lack of customer service Sears has given you regarding your washer has ruined my loyalty to Sears appliances.

  6. Love the dinosour and the visit from the frog. We had a frog last night in the yard. Skye didn’t see it which was a good thing. Don’t really like to see the frogs because sometimes the snakes will follow!
.-= Debby would like you to read ..HAPPY EASTER =-.

  7. I am Friday following. Cool blog. Love to make clay dinosaurs. These days in our home-school, we’re making clay Noah’s Ark animals and copies of the soldiers that were found in 1974 of the clay army the Chinese found in the tomb of Qin Shi Huangdi. Love to have you visit me.

  8. I love your fragments and I love how you call her Princess Nagger …lol that is how I feel about my little buggy boy sometimes

  9. I know what you mean about this weather. I love the heat of summer, and the older I get, the more I dislike the cold of winter. It must be an age thing with me.

I can’t remember the last time I used a laundromat. It might have been back in college.

The princess has it all figured out.

  12. “I have been reading your entries during my afternoon break, and I have to admit the whole article has been very enlightening and very well composed. I thought I’d let you know that for some reason this blog does not display well in Web Explorer 8. I wish Microsoft would quit changing their software. I possess a question for you. Do you thoughts exchanging blog roll backlinks? That would be truly cool! ”
