Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for sassy updates.

It’s been a while since I’ve participated in Random Tuesday Thoughts – because I just didn’t have enough Random to Rock the Tuesday.  I may not still Rock the Tuesday, but I do have some Random, so away we go!

What a weekend.  The snow storm we were supposed to get did indeed arrive, but we lucked out because the majority of the snowfall decided to inundate those further East and North of us (sorry to those to the East and North of us – I didn’t actually think Mother Nature would pay attention to my memo).

We did, however, have some wicked wind and snow, so the snow that fell pretty much blew out into the Back 40 so we didn’t have to commence with more shoveling.  February will go down in history for record snow fall for sure.  Now I’m ready for Spring to arrive, but those that are they are still cautioning that we may still get some significant snow in March.  Let’s just get it over with already and bring on the Spring warmth and sunshine!  Please.

I decided to do my bi-monthly grocery shopping on Sunday since hubby was having a couple of his band members come over to record some lead vocals and do some mixing for their upcoming CD.  It was a good idea to keep the Princess Nagger out from underfoot.  Except that it meant she’d be under my feet instead.  She insisted she wanted to go (this being the child who hates to go grocery shopping, because of that ever-present word “No”.)  She did have an ulterior motive – she wanted to make sure I didn’t forget that I had promised to pick up some Pyxo’s for her, though, so I relented.

I thought Wal*Mart wouldn’t be too busy on a Sunday morning, but I was oh so wrong.  I guess it was “Bring your rude self to Wal*Mart Day”.  Wish I would have gotten the memo.  I would have stayed home.  Or at least practiced being rude so I could fit in with everyone else.  Although being gone for 4 hours did have its perks – hubby actually cleaned the downstairs bathroom and mopped the kitchen and living room floors!   I was in shock as much as you are right now.  On the flip side, he still hasn’t taken care of the almost broken washing machine.  Baby steps.

Part of the motivation for mopping the floors was this:

Maybe Rolex is secretly practicing for the upcoming baseball season – he looked like he had slid into home plate in the mud.  Of course some of that mud was transferred onto our floors – since we have all wood floors and not a stitch of carpeting anywhere.  And at least he didn’t decide to make mud pies and bring those into the house.  But I better not say that too loud, or it’ll give Princess Nagger ideas.

I have been stalking a red cardinal in our backyard waiting to get a good shot of him.  I finally succeeded, and then have been forgetting to share.  Well, today I’m remembering to share:

Is it just me, or does he look like a ‘well-rounded’ red cardinal?  His cardinal wife is much more svelte – she must be doing a better job at sticking to her diet.

That’s it for me – head over to Keely’s place for some Real Random Fun!

What is a pxso? I’ve never heard of that. I hate those Walmart trips when you just know you’re going to walk out the door, grouchy.

Loving your random post. What is it about Walmart that brings out the rude in people?? The cardinal is beautiful. We get a lot of them and blue jays. There was a baby blue jay on the rail at our back steps the other day but I couldn’t get the camera quick enough to catch it.

I LOVE that cardinal pic!

6 Otin March 2, 2010 at 5:45 am

Hubby needs to fix that damned washer for you!

It will be nice when we can not have to post about cold and snow!

You know me, I stay away from Walmart!

Wow, I’m impressed. My house always looks WORSE when I get back from being gone from the house that long. I haven’t been to Walmart in ages, I don’t miss the rude people!

These days you couldn’t drag me into a WalMart if you held a gun to my head, especially the Super WalMart near my house – I think the Jerry Springer Show trolls for guests there.

Just sayin’.

At least you are keeping a sense of humor through the long white cold winter!! The picture of the cardinal is lovely. Good shot. Those birds can fly off so fast I don’t get much chance at pictures. There is an orange bird in our tree each day and he flies up and down and in and out of the tree. Kind of going from limb to limb and branch to branch leaving ownership droppings on each one!

No!!! you have a broken (almost broken) washing machine too? It’s just not fair! I could have told you not t go to WalMart. I’m not sure when polite day/hour is there. It’s not any of the hours I shop. Your cardinal pic is gorgeous! Happy Tuesday!

Hi, there! I missed you! I must have been away for a looong time, because everything looks different, here-lol! I love the new look, esp. Princess Nagger in the flower! :) I’ve found that every day at Walmart is ‘Bring your rude self to Walmart’ day. At least near me. I prefer Super Target, whose prices are like, a measly 6% higher than Walmart’s. OMG, your dogs are cute! I can’t believe how much the “puppy” has grown-they look like two peas in a pod, now. And the cardinal shot is just beautiful-have a happy RTT! :)

Cardinal stalking, must be a new PA sport. It took me some time to get a picture too, until they realized I had good food up by the patio too, now they visit often. After that it was the woodpecker, I got him too! Your picture looks so similar to the first one I took! Too funny!

Ooh, you DID get a great picture of the bird! He’s beautiful!

No no no. You don’t go shopping at Wal-mart on a Sunday DAY. Only Sunday early evening or later! Duh you.

You’re in PA, right? Where at exactly? My aunt and uncle live in Bucks County in Erwinna.

I think you’re going to have to go to Walmart at 3am if you want to avoid the crowds, at least around here. That place SUCKS.

Beautiful shot of the cardinal, I love it!
